Both recently were elite programs that have fallen quickly to the middle of the SEC and no longer feared.

Probably Bama. It’s going to be a sharp decline. I feel like Kentucky’s has been gradual and they were stagnant there for awhile.

It has to be kind of deflating to see Alabama Football and Kentucky Basketball and think "ha, they suck now" and then realize that they are both just as good or better as your programs in each sport, which are currently sitting at a 50 year pinnacle.

It's super weird when the team who got the shite kicked out of them is the one doing the most crowing about how they're not scared.

Like the kid who gets their arse kicked on the playground and then hides behind their bigger friends and talking about how "not scary" the guy who knocked them flat is.

Neither, Deboer is a good coach and will have Alabama back when he sets up his system.

I'm not sure why you mention UK basketball considering Pope had to scramble to put a team together.

We haven't yet fallen so far as to become a women's basketball school like certain teams in our conference, so there's that.

If bama fans truly feel they haven’t fallen why are they so clearly offended in this topic? Most responses are just insults with no real discussion.

Bama was a questionable decision by the committee from being in the playoffs.

And bro, we go back to SECFanatics (I was SECgamecock453 there, and recently SCgamecock2988 here before I got my username changed).

I’ll ask again. Why the LSU flair? OM grad, LSU postgrad?

Because I get a kick out of people responding to me like I'm an LSU fan.

TBH - I made it that a decade ago and have no idea how to change.

The last 5 years under Cal were rough, but his tenure up to that point had the 2012 National Championship, the 2014 Runner-Up, Final Fours in 2011 and 2015, and Elite Eights in 2010, 2017, and 2019.

Obviously it remains to be seen with Pope but he has a squad that he cobbled together late in the portal due to when he was hired but they've been AP Top 15 most of the season at this point.
