Anyone listen to Michael Bratton, of "that SEC Podcast" today?

He said there's no way CKD survives a repeat of this years record and that he must make the 12 team playoff or he will be fired. I really don't know him or how much credibility he carries, just happen to stumble across him today. He also said that it very well could come down to the Iron Bowl...loser gets fired.
I kind of figured CKD gets 3 years at least, but who knows these days.

It’s what that clown is hoping happens.

It just depends on how the season goes. A failure to make the playoffs again would be devastating. Just depends on how the games go and who Alabama might lose to.
A repeat of a game like OU and there is a serious problem. If all the games are competitive, it would be a little different.
If Alabama doesn't make the playoffs, they better beat all the teams they are supposed to, no losing to bad teams again.
9-3 with losses to say Georgia, Auburn and FSU, probably doesn't get him fired. Need that bowl win and a playoff appearance in 2026 or he is definitely gone.

What is the point of this thread?
Nobody knows what's going to happen. Not even Greg Byrne knows what's going to happen, least of all some random dipshit podcaster

Dude is clueless. Byrne is passing the hat to fund NIL and yet he’s going to put together $60 million to tell DeBoer to get lost? Not happening. In fact, I’d argue that unless he bangs a secretary, DeBoer probably has a MINIMUM of three years left UNLESS he decides to leave on his own.

Playing Milroe all year may have cost him an extra year.

Why? If both Ty and Mack are awful next season they would have been awful this season too, and Russell wasn't an option. If one of those 3 is good no one will care that we wasted a year starting Milroe again. The only way it'd really hurt is if Lonergan plays like a 1st rounder for BooB while all the guys he was behind look like shite.

DeBoer is not going to be fired in 2 seasons. Recruiting has held up fine. He went 9-4 not 5-7.
The only way he’s fired in fewer than 3 seasons is for things that have nothing to do with performance.

First, this is a completely ridiculous notion. DeBoer is going to be given plenty of time. Second, firings are going to be completely different in this era. You have to consider the fallout of the roster now. Coaches will be given far more time to get things fixed than previously.

Youtube and X are filled with wannabes who act like they know something while parroting info they heard in some chat room or that they came up with while talking to Bubba over breakfast at Waffle House.
On to some really big news, my Fbook feed had a story about us signing a white boy who is 7’5” 365 lb. Erybody else is screwwwed.

This has been discussed over and over.
Holstein left and started at Pitt.
Lonergan left and will be the starter at BC.
In no way is Ty worse than Milroe.

Why would you even bring his name up here ? He’s a Tennessee homer whose shitty podcast is based in Nashville. His opinion is worthless.

So let's agree that Ty is better than Milroe. We were one win away from making the playoff with Milroe, and most of the major contributors on that team are coming back. It stands to reason that if Ty is in fact better than Milroe we should at least make the playoff next year. So how has DeBoer cost himself an extra year when literally no one will still give a shite about him starting Milroe this year if we are a better team next year?

CKD's contract has 70 million reasons why he'll be here for at least three years...
Posted on 1/14/25 at 9:03 am to NWLA_Bama
The contract is a limiting factor to change on Bama’s part. CKd has an easier path to parting ways. Great contract negotiated by a wise AD. Things are not what ckd expected in Tuscaloosa.

Hell's frozen over, I'm actually agreeing with Remaster 916.
The schedule is tougher this year so it will be a challenge. I don't think DeBoer has to get to the playoffs, but I think he's got to show up with a team that's properly prepared and doesn't have its collective heads up its collective anuses 12 times without exception.
If we do that, and we lose enough fair fights where we we show up prepared and compete on even terms and simply fall short, so be it, and I don't think it will be fatal to him.
Another repeat of Oklahoma ... again, to me that was the inexcusable one, not Vandy ... cannot happen. Period. Case closed. Finis. End of discussion.
If we have repeats of that fiasco, the ice under his feet will absolutely start cracking.

I think you're grossly underestimating the expectations of the Bama fanbase for next season. If he misses the playoffs his seat will get hotter than an August summer day in Tuscaloosa.
I would think most people expect a two game improvement from year one to year two. Which is reasonable. That would put us at 10-2 and in the playoff.
