The only 2 players they "bought" were downs and judkins. Howard was the "leftovers" in the portal, bama ran McLaughlin out of town, the rest of the starters are buckeye recruits

Titles don’t mean anything anymore. Teams with the most money will win each year. Columbus is the fastest growing city and their alumni is huge. They will buy what they want

What’s the difference between paying 23 million for your recruits or the transfer portal? Your still buying players in a non pro league.

There's this lazy narrative that Ohio State is just a bunch of mercenaries. It's a fun narrative, and it allows the "college tooball is going to hell" crowd and "back in my day" crowd to chime in. But it's also not true. Much of the famous 20 million dollars went towards keeping players from transferring or going pro after last season.

They also have one of the best defensive coordinators. Oklahoma State's defeinse perennially sucked dick and then they were a top 5 defense in the country the season before Ohio State hired him away.

Ohio State is 6 weeks removed from losing to Michigan. The real issue is the same issue of every playoff system: the hottest team wins every time. CBB is probably the most egregious in this, but when you have a playoff, you're not necessarily guaranteeing the best team wins and Ohio State is just the hottest team

So…..teams like Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, USC, and yes LSU weren’t paying players before??
Now that everyone is and the playing field is actually more balanced you think titles aren’t as legit as before??
College sports has always been about who had the boosters and fan base that cared more. Those teams always won more. It hasn’t changed one bit now.
