The 2022 class had 15 top 100 players. These are considered the "blue-chip" recruits. Only five remain and two of them are considering the NFL.

10 years ago most of these guys would've still been around as starters or important depth pieces as redshirt juniors or seniors.

5* LB Jeremiah Alexander - transfer portal
5* Jihaad Campbell - NFL/remains
5* QB Ty Simpson - remains
4* OG Elijah Pritchett - remains
4* WR Isaiah Bond - Texas
4* WR Aaron Anderson - LSU
4* WR Emanuel Henderson Jr - Kansas
4* WR Shazz Preston - Tulane

4* OG Tyler Booker - NFL/remains
4* DL Khurtis Perry - Virginia Tech
4* DL Jehiem Oatis - Colorado
4* LB Shawn Murphy - Florida State
4* WR Kobe Prentice - Baylor
4* WR Kendrick Law - Kentucky

4* RB Jamarion Miller - remains

247 composite

How does that compare to teams like UGA, OSU, etc?

Useless without a side by side comparison. Attrition is high everywhere, and Bama endured the most high profile coaching change possibly ever.

And Alabama has still managed a 5 game winning streak against Auburn. How bad must they suck?

I don't know. All I know is if you're losing 10 out of 15 top 100 players to the portal you're going to see a massive dive in the program.

10 years ago we didn't have the Transfer Portal or NIL.

Kids couldn't jump from program to program without sitting for a year.

You're telling me making broad sweeping changes to the system had a negative effect on roster retainability?

Yet Auburn still hasn't taken advantage of this.

5* LB Jeremiah Alexander - bust
5* Jihaad Campbell - 3Y starter
QB Ty Simpson - presumptive starter
4* OG Elijah Pritchett - 3Y starter
4* WR Isaiah Bond - portal contract guy 4* WR Aaron Anderson - portal went home
4* WR Emanuel Henderson Jr - bust
4* WR Shazz Preston - bust
4* OG Tyler Booker - NFL / 3Y starter
4* DL Khurtis Perry - bust
4* DL Jehiem Oatis - system change
4* LB Shawn Murphy - bust
4* WR Kobe Prentice - bust
4* WR Kendrick Law - bust
4* RB Jamarion Miller - 2Y starter

I mean given the portal and the greatest coach of all time retiring with scheme changes on both sides of the ball I don’t think this is very odd?

Go back and look at previous classes and the nfl guys would’ve been leaving Saban or not. The other stuff is just portal era football.

That’s all relative to other programs, though. That’s my point.

If 10 out of 15 at the other power programs are also leaving, this stat is moot.

You can’t expect Stidham8 to understand what you are trying to explain to him.

not at Missouri.

This has been probably our worst year for the portal loss wise and we only lost like 200 actual yards of production and no production on defense.

Auburn’s 2022 4 star high school class (excludes transfers) and whether they are still at Auburn or hit the portal.

4* JD Rhym - Houston
4* Jeffrey M’ba - Purdue
4* Keionte Scott - transfer portal undecided
4* Robert Woodyard - Auburn
4* Holden Geriner - transfer portal undecided
4* Marquise Gilbert - transfer portal UTEP?
4* Austin Ausberry - LSU
4* Omari Kelly - MTSU
4* Tre Donaldson - quit football to focus on basketball and then transferred to Michigan
4* EJ Harris Jr - MTSU
4* Damari Alston - Auburn

Two of eleven are still at Auburn. Dang, that is even worse than Alabama.

It looks like Auburn has become a pipeline for Middle Tennessee State University players.

Thank you for your continued interest in Alabama football. I can’t imagine taking the time to research and create a post about Auburn.

Isaiah Bond has completely checked out after his ankle injury vs. OU. It's an interception every time he's targeted at this point. He shouldn't even be on the field. Hopefully he makes me eat those words vs. OSU.

You could do that for every team in the country.
