This isn't basketball. Not enough parity between the top 12 teams. 4 best teams are the way. These blowout games just aren't cutting it.

Just go to 16. Get rid of byes. And seed accordingly. You don't get a top 4 cause you won a crappy league.

Plenty of blowouts in the 4 team and the 2 team playoffs from previous years. How about we just play random bowl games and let the AP decide?

For me, I enjoy it. We will get some bangers but maybe not every year. Maybe it means more up north watching football.

Only thing with that is you still have bad games. A 1 playing 16, 2 v 15 and so on

Maybe give it more than one year before making a judgement?

If we go to a system where a conference champion doesn't get a bye, then you have to recognize that teams will rest their players in CCG's going forward.

If we had a 16 team playoff, UGA, Texas, PSU and Oregon would all be top 8 seeds regardless of what happened in the Big 10 and SECCG's. So no starters would end up playing in those games.

UGA wouldn't risk Carson Beck getting hurt (which he was) in a game where winning wouldn't give them any benefit. Texas wouldn't risk their starters either. Nobody would. The only thing that makes taking those games seriously make sense is that you get a bye if you win.

Take that away, it's a pre-season like game with no meaning.

It' fine if we want to take away the benefit of winning a CCG. But just realize that if you do, you take away any reason to play starters in the CCG.

If they would select the best 12 teams and seed correctly, you’d have a much better product.

This format gives teams that did their work during the season to get a shot. If they get mauled that’s expected. The first round of all tournaments have blow outs.

Yes. But you would have to win to move on. You aren't a Boise or Arizona State sitting with a bye. You are likely knocked out first round and we get better second round games

Take the top 12 teams the BCS computer spits out. Forget conference championships and committees. All games prior to the semis should be played on campuses.

The average score of the Championship games over the past 6 years is 45-17 ! What's your point?

No it gives teams that also didn’t do their work during the regular season a shot also which is the issue. 6 maybe 8 teams was plenty. 3 loss teams have no business getting a chance at a title and you will have that with this format

These playoffs are boring as shite.

I wanted a 12 team playoff bad but this isn’t good.

Yet everyone was screaming for more playoff teams.

Not everyone. Some idiots were screaming for less.

Last year, two deserving teams were left out. That's why you have an expanded playoff. Had it been 8 all along, we'd still be at 8 teams and it would be 8 teams forever most likely.

But, we couldn't be reasonable. FSU and UGA were left out.....making sure a streak of deserving teams are left out going all the way back to the 2 team BCS....every one of which left out deserving teams.

This year, no deserving team was left out but some undeserving ones were let it.

It's the better option.

Not the number so much as the seeding and format. Blowouts happened every year with 4 too.

Basketball is far better at seeding teams. And doesn’t compound seeding issues with home field (which is huge). It still has problems but it’s far more thought out than this season’s playoffs.

It's just a few too many teams, scale it back to 10 teams, 2 teams get a first round bye.

8 teams split up 4 first round games.

Lastly, a Top 10 playoff just sounds better.
