How do they sell a less successful version of the guy they just fired to their fans and donors?
That's not what they are selling... They are selling a younger coach who understands building a team thru the portal, and also understands how to use the media. That's the future of college football.

Thinking back to 2021 the season started out with a 2 - 4 record.
More we lose, the faster Eli's going to Penn State.

Just imagine being the team knowing your Coach is basically gone, it's 100% a distraction and their lack of preparation vs TAMU is proof of it.
I got Miss State this weekend officially putting the nail in our seasons coffin.
“It’s probably no more distracting than trying to decide if you’re going to run for United States Senate,” Eli Drinkwitz

Drink will announce he's accepted the PSU job after Senior night. Probably a Monday midday announcement
That's some inside info..
My friend at the athletic program didn't go that far but that it's Penn State but no timeline. His agent is doing all the work, Drink has entertained all big name jobs.

Do the posters think Eli even sees the OC as a problem?
Eli sees an easy fall guy for his own coaching deficiencies.

Colin Klein, pay him and get it done.

Man I don't know. Last year Eli was talking mad stuff to that sideline, anything could happen. Right now I see us winning just one more game between MState and Arkansas.

Texas A&M HC isn't an offensive minded HC.
Colin Klein is a rising star, I hated him as a player when Mizzou played KState back in the day and I still hate him as an OC. But I respect how he's done it. Marcel Reed is a good qb but Colin has him playing mistake free, smart football, which makes him elite.

Don't forget that Drink managed to convince "new age" media that he's so much better than the other options for coaching vacancies right now. That is something no Mizzou coach did as well as Drink, not even close.

2013 was Pinkel’s best team, IMO.
Nitpicking but I still believe the 2007 was the best team, even though it was in the Big 12.

If Eli fires Moore tomorrow I’ll be okay giving him one more chance with a legit OC.
People want to crap on Moore but these are the same issues we've had with our offense pre Kirby, during Kirby, and will continue post Kirby. Drink wants his OC to run the offense he designed.

Pinkel has been a HC longer than Drinkwitz's.
I'll put up a grand that Drink doesn't get half of what Pinkel did.
All Drink has to do is half of Pinkel's accomplishments:
1 SEC Championship appearance.
1 Most wins at one of his schools he coaches at.
Who takes this bet?

Drink will 100% fizzle out where-ever he goes after here.

I look at that Auburn vs Texas A&M game as our common opponent game and it was close even tho it was a TAMU home game. Unfortunately, I can't make the leap to a win. Something about Eli's vibe like he has one foot out the door. I stand by a sizeable W for TAMU.
