I see us right at 25 personally maybe even a bit outside based on the schedule.

+ we've also lost a ton of tailgating space right outside the north entrance.

Guess they didn't watch our QB play the last two years.

Garrett Riley did work on the offensive staff for Kansas for a few years and they were atrocious.

Noteworthy:

He is the younger brother of USC head coach Lincoln Riley.

TCU had the 9th highest scoring offense in the 2022 season with 38.8 pts/game. He was awarded the 2022 Broyles Award for the top assistant coach in college football.

I would say this guy would be a solid OC but he's like the QB development guy, which is good too.

And balls

Unfortunately, Eli keeps his hands on the balls.
I heard one media guy say to move the bowl game to the first game of the next season.

I was like, that sounds crazy but it makes more sense because it puts value on that game and it'd be a helluva kick off to the season.

Essentially the conference champ game and only the playoffs are the games after the season.

I watched Austin's highlights and lowlights yesterday and here's what I took away:

1 - Much more physically gifted than we've had in the past few years.
2 - The Ole Miss team around him was obviously better and the playcalls infinitely better.
3 - His throws to the middle of the field with his tight end were excellent. I want to see more of that here.
4 - I didn't realize he's graduated already. He's a smart kid.

The not so good - interceptions and only playing good against Georgia (once) and the rest was against below average competition.

I don't think he can be worse than Beau Pribula.

If Austin becomes the starter, in this offense where the qb will be required to run, I just hope he can survive a full season. By October we'll have Zollers play clean up. I hope not though, we play Ole Miss on October 17th.

Austin Simmons

Let me get this straight. Ole Miss was planning on having Austin Simmons be their qb, he gets hurt, and Trinidad takes over and they are where they are.

Just a quick glance at his stats and it looks like we have another Pribula type of situation for next year.

What's your guys opinion of this move? Right now it looks like Eli's putting Simmons vs Zollers, which looks like the battle of the back ups.

This was Pinkel's kryptonite. He was way too loyal to coordinators that just could not get the job done.

That could be applied to just about any Mizzou coach for as long as I can remember. The good ones leave and the bad ones stay. It's an issue with most mid-tier programs.

Pinkel could have done this I think.

I think so too. Pinkel had three levels of success with Toledo, Big 12, and SEC. Cignetti has two seasons in the NIL era. Don't forget, this was not a Saban Alabama team either.

Glad we didn’t fall into that trap.

Glad we didn't hire the guy who had one of the most prolific offenses in college football history.

We had the money to get Chip Kelly and still hired the wrong Chip.

Thanks Eli

Not gonna lie, I see Gabe a few times a month in the steam room, I'll be sure to let him air it all out.
It's pretty bad when Gabe finally says something negative about Drink but here we are.

Same thing with Pribula before he got injured ...

I don't think Pribula's that good even when he was healthy. We have a bunch of second or third stringers starting at qb right now.

Brady Cook easily gets the W, and some timely 3rd down conversions via his legs.

This whole "outside zone is our identity" is bullshite.

I actually agree with this.. Getting another "yes" man from his rolodex is exactly how this offense stays predictable and stagnant. What I hate about this hire is that he's basically already known for doing what we've been doing.
