Outside of the playoffs, nobody cares about these games. There is no momentum for next year, “black eye”, blah, blah. If Bama wins by 50, it means nothing. Half of the players don’t even care in any given game. You either get to the playoffs, and not get embarrassed, or you failed.

I enjoy having them playing in the background while working around the house this time of year.

It makes it feel more holiday season-like, I can't really explain it.

I feel the same. Even if I’m not watching them closely, I like having them on.

Actually, I won’t. That’s kind of the point. I don’t even care if it’s my team. I used to care, but not anymore. Ratings probably reflect that I’m not the only one.

Teams get the extra practice, which is good for them.

Imagine coming to a sports forum board and complaining that there's too many sports.

Would some of these games be better on campus or is it better at a neutral location so players can enjoy a trip?
Might have better attendance at someone’s home stadium

Seems like Alabama fans in particular are hell bent on telling us how much they don’t care.

Most of them will probably be on a different team next year anyway

SEC teams losing further proving the committee made the right decision by not letting Bama back in.

The extra practice time, especially with opt-outs and the transfer portal now, can be very valuable for getting your backups ready for their new, expanded roles. It’s basically an early spring practice period.

It is truly strange. Especially when people here complain about college baseball when it's the only sport in season.

Don’t like them, don’t watch them. Navy/OU, Ark/TTU, Aggy/USC were all entertaining games. Above all else quit being a whiny sack of vagina lips

It's tradition ... plain a simple.

College football was at its best when every major bowl game was on the 1st and every game had to work around the rose bowl and even then we watched every game on from 10am until after midnight and every stadium was near full. Say what you want about living in the past, change Yada Yada Yada but it's true. That business model worked.
