A Super League or bigger playoff. Something will change

I can see a few conferences leaving the NCAA to form their own governing body.
The current system is 100% broken. You can not tell me that a Mountain West team who played nobody and lost to the 1 ranked team they played is more worthy than a 2 or 3 loss SEC team who played 5 ranked teams.
The only other solution is to expand it yet again. And that will mean a change to scheduling too.

This has been said for decades in CFB.
And without fail - any improvement intended to address this - has made CFB worse.

Why do you think Big Ten and SEC want a future scheduling agreement.
Big Ten will add Notre Dame and some others
SEC will raid ACC and a few from Big 12
Super League commence and playoffs will represent those two conferences and they will go it alone

This is whats going to happen. SEC/B1G have no appetite for revenue sharing with teams like Memphis, Boise St, SMU, Boston College, etc....
SEC/B1G will eventually be like NFC/AFC.

I agree.
And I think, at this point, it's best due to a better playoff system and rules being enforced... hell... just some rules period on transfers and money!

Not anytime soon.
2026 we go to 16 games (which is why rosters are expanding to 105). After that it'll stay, as is, for a couple of decades.

Which MAC team made the playoff?

16 team won't fix the issue either. You got a team that is 11-1, 10-2, 10-3.... A lot of teams that outisde the top 16 that have records like that.
What needs to happen is just end it. You are in the Mountain West and you are not playing anybody... you don't get in! You play 3 ranked teams and beat them all, talk to me. But that's never going to be the case.

Meant Mountain West.

alabama fans would have been unconcerned about the system had they gotten in.

That's a slippery slope; you can kiss CFB goodbye at this point. It will eat itself from there on.

The only solution is super conferences with division play. See the NFL and have something similar.

why not just make it the top 24 teams

The Land of Copium. Where Bama fans have now taken up permanent residence.

Man why is it any time Bama loses they want the entire NCAA to change to suit them?

This was a very weird year with the SEC cannibalizing itself, and no true powerhouse anywhere in the country (unless you think Oregon qualifies). Let's see what happens next year before we could conclude that this format is a failure.

No small irony that the easiest solution is to have the better programs spread out in smaller divisions by geographic region.
Like before conference expansion.
But, I guess that's how corporate geniuses work.
