SMU lost 1 regular season game by 3 pts, then lost their conference title game by 3 pts.

Alabama, on the other hand, lost 3 regular season games and didn't make their conference title game.

Comparing the 2, if I were an unbiased observer, I'd opt for SMU.

Bama only scored 3 points in one game.

Against a 6-6 team.

Yea ok. A person living in Georgia that loves to go horseback riding is a bama fan? Sounds about right.

Then put USC in, who actually beat Clemson, on the road. Putting a 2 loss team in with a 60+ SOS will ruin college football scheduling.

Beating good teams will no longer matter, just don’t lose. All non-conference games will be powder puff programs

Smu beat nobody and played a very weak schedule. I would put bama in over them.

I would have South Carolina in over bama though but that was set last week

Alabama fans don’t like horseback riding? Can’t say I’ve ever heard that one before.

If the resumes were completely flipped, you gumps would be making the exact opposite arguments.

So you blame SMU for being in a weak conference and playing a schedule they didn't make?

We do that every year. It's why Army isn't even discussed.

They are a one loss team.

No, we wouldn’t. We’d never condone something that would incentivize getting rid of great regular season matchups. Bama fans love college football, and it’s why Birmingham is always the 3rd highest market share of any big CFB game not including Bama.

This is an argument for South Carolina, not SMU. There is no reality where SMU is more deserving than all 3-loss SEC teams, and only foolish SEC fans would claim otherwise.

The ACC isn't in the same universe as the SEC. Stop elevating them.

If the decision is going to be debated in a conference room, you didn’t do enough on the field.

You’ll win some of those and lose some of those conference room games. But if you win the actual conference games, you don’t have to play the conference room games.

Well that's goofy. I'm a Bammer and I barely think twice about UAB. Why would I ?
