Milroe - a softer perspective.

Dude has been a part of some BIG wins. Wins we wouldn't have if he weren't QB.
There've been the headscratching losses too. Do we compare him to Tua? To Jones? No. No, we don't.
Do we compare him to Coker? Probably not. Coker has a natty. Natties matter.
Do we compare him to Bryce? Bryce beat Auburn twice. So did Milroe. Neither won a title (assuming we don't back in to playoff). But Bryce did win the Heisman.
Do we compare him to Hurts? Forget about Hurts in the NFL. It may be more favorable than you think.
I'm just saying...we just beat Auburn for the 5th time in a row. Milroe was instrumental in the last two. He's won an SEC championship. Beat UGA twice. Tennessee once. Smoked LSU this year. We were probably a couple of plays away from winning a title last year.
It may be time to show this man a little grace.

Being a QB, especially in today’s game, comes with a lot of criticism and praise. If you’re playing well everyone will give you most all the credit. If not you’ll be destroyed
That’s the nature of today’s game

He's been shown lots of grace, tons of it. Those days are over. You either don't know what to expect with him or you expect the worst. That's Jalen Milroe and I'm sick of that shite.
The shite he does well, he only does every once in a while and as the season has progressed, he's done less and less of it. He's made millions providing a shitty product and he needs to get the frick out.

Honestly if Ryan doesn't drop the absolutely perfect throw, Milroe never throws the interception, and the game probably ends up more like 42-14 instead of 28-14.

He's a nice kid, but how do we know this? If he weren't QB, the entire game plan, and everything that happened in those games would be different.
Good luck to him. I'm ready to move on.

Yeah, we might not have won.

He has his spot in Bama lore obviously for the '23 Iron Bowl, and then you add the fact that he bitch slapped LSU and UGA both times he played those teams, 2-0 against AU, but he also had his worst games in some of his most important games.
He's been subject of irrational hate from a lot of the fanbase to the point of wild, unfounded rumors being thrown around about him and the backup constantly being called for over him.
But he seems to be a good representative of Bama, and I don't really have anything bad to say about him personally.
I'm ready to see who is next, but I appreciate his time here for the most part.

Great post. The boo birds here will not tolerate anything less than trashing milroe. He's a good guy and loves his school. He's had some electric plays and some bone head plays, but he didn't lose to Auburn, LSU, and UGA.

It's a fair point. But we don't KNOW that Simpson would have made the difference in some of the losses.
We DO know that Milroe was a DOMINANT factor in many of our wins.
Sure, he was weak/culpable in a few inexplicable losses.
I'm just saying: the Milroe era is likely OVER now. There were some pretty high highs. I think I'll remember him the way I remember Blake Sims. And maybe Hurts. Somewhere in that neighborhood. A baller, that didn't quite make it across the nattie line.

I'd show him grace if he played like he gave a shite. If he showed the heart of guys like Pavia for Vanderbilt or King for GT, I'd have a lot more leniency.
He plays with a nonchalant attitude, he started this stupid arse LANK thing, he does these cringey TD dances.
And he fumbles the ball more than any QB I can remember.
I'm sick of his sorry arse. Let him take his LANK merch, his entitled millionaire attitude, and hit the fricking road. Let him be a problem for some NFL team. We don't need him

frick all that. The sliding trip tackle attempt was all I needed to see. Not a leader. Take my chances with another player not as talented but can will a team to win on the road against tough SEC comp. Some good wins and I wish him well, but hope to see a real competitor at QB for Alabama football in the future.

I think the bipolar nature of this team is directly representative of never knowing what you'll get out of Milroe. I wondered aloud several weeks ago how far this team could go if we had a calm, focused, consistent QB like Bryce Young.

All the "naysayers" (ha!) downvoting apparently know more than the combined coaching experience of Saban AND DeBoer.
Both of which evaluated the team and felt that 4 was the best to lead the team.
I hope Ty has a great year next year.

I spent the whole year going to bat for milroe, and he burned up all my goodwill with his stupid decisions and costly turnovers. I was hopeful he could improve but he absolutely did not, I don't know if he's capable of doing anything other than what he does. 2 of our losses his ints, which happen because he just doesn't make reads, directly cost us the game. I'm ready for the LANK era to be over with and for a QB that can make a friggin read. He can't even make a read running the ball, I've never seen someone so bad at running read option , which he should be a monster at. With his physical skills and big arm and that big oline we should have been able to just pound people inside all year with the read option and get some chunk yards when the tried to crowd the box, but he's just not got it in the head. He's got it everywhere else

Guy has some Mt. Everest highs, but some Mariana Trench lows. I think it's absolutely fair for people to want more consistency out of the QB on the field.
Unfortunately, it hasn't been left just at that...

He turns over the ball too much and he is far too mentally weak.
If he were stronger mentally he would be the best player in college football because he would finish runs, be confident in making the right pass and run reads and not fall apart when his teammates make mistakes.

He is a big time game player, UGA and LSU. But the losses to Vandy and Okie are unacceptable.
Off topic:
Has Deboer lost this team? Will the coordinators be replaced? Does Deboer understand Alabama football culture?
Final thought - young men need discipline. Maybe not at the Saban level but some tough love is needed.

Someone in another thread said he'll get an NFL general manager fired.
That may happen, but if someone, somewhere can turn the light switch on to go with his physical tools, someone may be GM of the Year.
I have no animus toward the man because I don't take what happens in these games personally like some folks seem to do. I take it very seriously, I don't take it personally like it's an attack on my existence or my self worth as a human being for something to go bad on the field in an Alabama game.
But it's time to say, "Thank you for what you did, wish some things had turned out differently, good luck in your future endeavors, we'll see you down the road."

What a weird game. *Outside of all the turnovers*, that was about as good as Milroe gets. Some legit great throws (including the dropped TD).
