If it goes to one permanent opponent who would you pick to play OU or TAMU?

Both. They are equal for me. If forced to pick I would have to flip a coin

Both, therefore I’d pick A&M. I know Texas and OU would still play OOC if it wasn’t on the schedule.. so we’d get both that way.

OU, that game is much better than the A&M game from my experience and it’s not close.

Good point and since we already play OU early in the season it would work out perfectly.

A&M. That game helps in state recruiting more for both programs. Makes it harder for other programs to recruit in Texas.

Maybe it’s just my age, but I hate Tech more than A&M. Just a garbage fanbase.

OU is historically the better program. Even though Texas has a double-digit lead in the series, it is a closer series, and up to his point would usually mean more on a national scarle.
However, OU's success was built on being one of the few programs doing institutional and extensive cheating. The aggies SHOULD be a better program going forward, because they have deeper pockets. However, a&m can screw-up any wet dream, so there is a good chance both programs suck going forward.
When the super league is formed, OU and a&m will likely be left out.

I’d probably lean towards OU because of the Cotton Bowl, the pageantry, and the high stakes usually on the line for that game. But it would suck to have to choose. The rivalry with A&M has a specialness about it that a Texas football season is incomplete without.

Similar for me.
Trash talk and 2012 bitterness aside (but, still, screw DeLoss Dodds), I still believe there is a fundamental respect between A&M and Texas fans.
Tech is just the trailer trash of the state. Fun to party with, but you’re disappointed if your daughter brings one home.

Yeah obviously I’m asking the question because we (lsu) are likely to get stuck with whichever is left over. We have no natural rival and despite having some traditional matchups I 100% get that we are at best 2nd on the rivalry priority list for anyone else. I don’t mind it because that means I get to hate everyone.
I have trouble believing that it will ultimately end up at 1 permanent because there’s too much that will fall to the wayside (UGA-AU, UT-UA UT vs TAMU or UT vs OU) but if it does come to pass it’s going to be interesting for us who we get placed with.

lol weird way of saying OU has been better than Texas for the last 80 years.
Double digit lead because Texas padded wins in the era when colleges had schools of the blind, high schools, and barnstormers on the schedule.
For a relevant period, OU has boat raced Texas.
Texas will only be in the “super conference” because of money. Same with Aggie.
