Kirby Smart has a buyout of $118M
Good grief these contracts are nuts.
Drink and Heupel make the same @ $9M per.
Grindin Brian is top 8 @ $9.9M
Kalen and Norvell and Day get paid the same @ $10M per
Mark Stoops buyout…..$44M

The NCAA should but won't put a stop to it. I think somewhere someone is getting kickbacks at the university level.

What’s nuts is the fact that a yearly compensation of around 9 million would put you at about the 7th or 8th highest paid NFL coach.

How on earth would the NCAA have the authority to regulate employment contracts?

Can you imagine what these agents get paid in royalties?

Ever seen the Billy Sexton representation agreement?
CAA gets your soul… But it’s worth it.

Same way public employees across the country are regulated. Teachers, police, firemen to name a few. Private universities, no. But public funded universities, yes. It will all get regulated one day when the shite hits the fan and it will

Jerry Jones can’t get into a bidding war with Clark Hunt over Andy Reid either. Andy is essentially the Chiefs property for as long as they want to pay him.
That’s the main reason the NFL coaching salaries have remained relatively low compared to CFB. College football is the Wild West with coaches, agents, and boosters.

Regulated my arse...
public sector employees live a life of zero accountability and zero consequence and if they run out of money they just take more from the private sector.
It is all just show and theatre for the low iq citizenry that actually buy into it.
Ridiculous comparison.

Europeans are flabbergasted when they learn the highest paid state employee in more than half the 50 states is a football coach, and not even coach of a pro team.

I just don't know why schools started bending over. If they'd all just agree enough is enough, it would end.
Is there a freakin coach that would turn down $5 million a year with a buyout of 1 year's salary to go do something else? Nope. But ADs get to play with monopoly money and don't care. Like someone said, I wouldn't be surprised at the kickbacks for these ridiculous contracts.
No problem paying for success...but making multimillionaires out of losers is nauseating.

The NCAA has no such authority. Congress doesn't even have that authority.
