No first rounders this year?

I've been looking at mock drafts since the season started and it's pretty universal that Bama doesn't have anyone that will be picked in the first round at this point. Very odd.

It is a weird year. Lawson is maybe the best LB in the country but not an NFL position of need. I could see Overton and Keenan playing themselves into first rounders but its an uphill climb.

Jalen milroe. All it takes is one team to like you. Also we’re 3 games in. Jayden Daniels wasn’t a heisman QB and second overall pick this time last year. Terrion Arnold wasn’t a first round pick and Koolaid was. I’m sure there are plenty more examples

If Anthony Richardson is a first rounder... then yeah it only takes one team

Booker?
Him and Roberts gonna play a long time at guard in the NFL. Those guys are brawlers.

If Milroe is as productive as he has been so far for the whole season, he’s going to be drafted in the 1st round just because you can’t teach his arm or legs but a successful year with DeBoer would suggest you could project improvement with better coaching.

I could definitely see Milroe in the top ten. NFL teams drool over potential and athleticism.

It's a little weird because we're used to having 2-3 first round locks. I think we'll have someone break out. The team winning creates first rounders.

What year is Sabb? Don't know if he is 1st round, but definitely high round.

Weirdly some of the best players Bama has don’t play high positions of need. ILB and S usually only get drafted in the 1st if they’re freaky athletic and/or extremely good players. But even then some of those guys fall into the 2nd round. Even IOL aren’t as highly valued as OT so our elite OG duo will have a harder time

Milroe isn't going first with his current issues throwing short/intermediate and with the mental side of the game
He'll be a Joe Milton and go in the fifth or something. Athletic traits are too good not to try him as a project
Sabb could go late first as a DB

This is a ridiculous comparison. Milroe would have to regress back to 2022 A&M Jalen to drop that far.

My son keeps up with the nfl trends and he seems to think if Milroe has a good yr he most definitely will go first round.
It’s just his opinion but QB is the most valuable position in the league and teams are willing to take shots to find their guy. He believes Milroe has just as much potential if not more than Beck, Sanders and Ewers and all of them is in the top 15 in the draft right now and he thinks Ewers will be the first qb taken.

Alabama has had a 1st rounder every year since the 09 draft, it would break a long streak.

I think you son is a Gump to the core
.
It be interesting how it goes. I think Sanders and Ewers are clear 1 and 2 QBs in some order in the draft. I honestly wish Sheduer would have not chosen to follow his father, cause he Oline limits at times what he can do. Somebody will make a mistake and reach for Beck.
To be fair this draft is super weak at QB, Jalen could be one of the first 5 QBs taken if he continues to improve this season and does well at the combine.

If Milroe's 2023 was so great on tape, he probably would've gone pro. Not sure why you think he's a guaranteed first if 2023 was so far over Milton.
Milton was a very raw prospect with footwork/touch issues, but he wasn't anywhere close to as bad in the mental game as Milroe. Milroe has footwork/throwing motion issues and struggles with the mental side of the game when he's about to enter his fifth year at a program.
Milroe's draft stock isn't remotely close to first round. Legs or no legs. He's probably going to go around the same region as Allar at best if he leaves this year and largely as a gamble on his tools less so his actual play.
The guy who might really surprise this year is Nussmeier. If he keeps this quality of play into SEC play he'll shoot up draft boards and could be a one and done 1st/2nd rounder

Who ever reaches for Nuss is going to get their very own Daniel Jones

Yeah he’s Bama but in a sensible way if that makes sense. Hes not a big Milroe fan but he wants him to do well. But he’s big into the nfl fantasy league and what teams are looking for in the draft.
He doesn’t like Sanders just off his attitude, believes that will hurt him somewhat.
Thinks Beck doesn’t have a killer arm but is deadly accurate.
Big Ewers fan as a qb and not the longhorns team

Not buying the Nussmeier hype. He had some real bone headed throws vs South Carolina including a terrible INT that was returned all the way and was called back due to an incredibly dumb penalty by USCe on the play.
