And this is why no one has come to pluck him out of Kentucky.

I would've walked out of the stadium at that point

I’m so glad I survived the Mark Stoops at A&M era.

Well then he is even STUPIDERERER than I thought. I said it then, I’ll say it now.
There is no way he should have punted.
If you don’t make it, you still have to get a stop, so those odds aren’t any different. Whatever the odds were that they could have gotten a 1st down.. he folded his hand before the flop..
STUPID decision.

Meh, I see it both ways. Posted this earlier.
Defense was playing well but tired. If they hold, it looks like a great move.
Offense had struggled, especially passing. Now, the real complaint should be abandoning the run to throw and get us in this spot to begin with.
Plus not taking one shot to the end zone before half.

I understand the call for some situations, but this was not one of them. Kentucky hadn't moved the ball at all for the entire quarter. The odds of making that 4th down were extremely low, but it had to be a better chance than the odds of driving all the way downfield again and then some.
If you're confident enough in your defense to "get the ball back" you should be confident enough that they'll stop Georgia even if they're on their own 43 yard line

And why he needs to be relegated to rugby or something else other than football.

Good post but I felt like I knew that UK's defense (and yes they were stellar) was getting winded and it was time to go on offense.
At any rate, UK played with some serious grit. I enjoyed watching them play but I feel like Stoops kind of let them down a bit.

Yeah. Stoops decision making is better than a decade ago, but it's still not great. I don't think he trusts Hamden or Vandagriff to make a play.

So you bought yourself about 15 yards of field position and gave up a chance to put the game away. Wow.

Yes. Gaining 8 yards vs: punt, stop Georgia, receive their punt, then drive the field and score or kick FG, all with 3 minutes on the clock. That's just not the right decision when you're playing the #1 team at home. You aren't going to win a game like that without taking some chances.
If he had gone for it and come up short, no one would have criticized him for trying. Just weak all around.

Kiffin would have gone for it.
You play to win the game. Stoops was not doing that.

Thank the football gods enough A&M boosters revolted when Ross Bjork tried to cram him down our throats.

You've hung with the best team in the country for 4 quarters....gotta go after their throat at some point and not play safe....credit to georgia for grinding out an ugly win.

yes he would’ve been dumb enough to go for it with a shitty Kentucky team
Kiffin had one 10 win season in the P5 before he went to Ole Miss. Now he has 3 and 37-15 at Ole Miss
Kiffin is a fraud
