And why it's Todd Ellis for South Carolina.

Tommy Suggs is great. Todd Ellis is awful.

Still hate that we lost Rod so young. Andy Burnham is only serviceable.

Definitely not Scott Howard. Georgia should thank Howard for his service and send Ben Ingram (Braves radio PBP) a blank check.

Mick was great, still getting used to the new guy. He seems OK.

Yup...Went from Larry Munson to Scott...SMDH...
Enthusiastic but his screeching after a big play puts my old heart into Afib and not in a good way.
Now I turn down the UGA radio network to listen to over the air brodcast...
Hell give me Tony Schiavone over Scott

Jim Powell would be good too he just left Braves radio and is a UGA grad

Auburn had two of the greatest back to back. Jim Fyffe and Rod Bramblett. Go back and listen to Rod's commentary at the end of the Iron Bowl 2013 and you'll get chills, unless you are a Bama fan. Both were 100% Auburn homers, kind of like Larry Munson for Georgia, and their love of Auburn showed in everything they did.
Rod had a hard time filling Jim's shoes, but he found his voice eventually. Miss them both. Our current guy is just OK, but I'm giving him time to grow into the role.

His call of the Ohio State missed field goal was embarrassing. If you were listening on radio, you didn't actually know if the kick went through for about 2 minutes.

Agree with this. I only mentioned Ingram because he and Howard both did the Ohio State game on separate radio broadcasts and Ingram's was eons better than Howard's.

quote:Don’t know if he’s the best because I don’t really listen to other teams’ broadcasts, but I enjoy Craig Way’s style. He’s been calling Longhorn games for 20+ years. Ok to listen to, not overly homerish, knows football history, concise & gets excited at the right time.

Todd Ellis played quarterback for the Gamecocks under Joe Morrison and later Sparky Woods after Morrison died unexpectedly. He is the school’s all time leading passer and winningest quarterback, and was taken in the ninth round of the 1990 Draft but never played one snap in the NFL .

We're pretty happy with Andrew Monaco, although I think football is not his best sport (he cut his teeth doing basketball, then did AAA baseball).

Ellis sounds like every old baw announcer I hear doing high-school games. Not sure why you think he's good.
