If you legitimately think the Box is one of the worst stadiums in this conference, then you haven't been to very many of the stadiums in this conference.
I think it definitely could be better but it's pretty far from being one of the worst.

It is the premier baseball school in America and the cheap skates make it look like a high school stadium with all of the dam bleachers. Inexcusable!!

This is interesting. I also am from Quitman and went to Quitman Hogh and this was never discussed.

It certainly has room for improvement, which is an ongoing topic of discussion among LSU fans. Mainieri put a lot of pressure on our administration to build a new stadium when he took the job, and they made some mistakes in their haste to get it built. They are moving the bullpens and adding additional seating this off season.

"Made some mistakes"? This is Skip's baby all the way. He bragged long & loud that he would travel the country, getting the best ideas & then put them all in The Box. The using the old bleachers was all about saving money. Skip sold parts of the Old Box to LSU fans, as it was demolished, again, all about money. There was a lot of talk about the poor economy cutting into fund raising back then, but bottom line, Skip went cheap. LSU fans trash it but recruits are blown away with it, visiting fans as well.

The SEC is blessed with good ballparks. You should see some other conferences parks. I know it’s been renovated since but Virginia was mostly metal bleachers when I went 10 years ago.

That was a good read. I did not know who Alex Box was nor why LSU’s park is named after him.
