Texas baseball...They have fired their HC.

The timing could only mean one of the coaches is playing tonight in the NC game. Why would have they waited this long to move ?

It doesnt mean its for one of the coaches still coaching at all. They could have been negotiating with any coach over the last few weeks potentially and finally reached a deal with them, if so, it probably isnt Vitello or Schloss as they've obviously been busy.

It doesn’t take weeks to negotiate. It’s pretty clear they are targeting one of the coaches still remaining

Off topic but it’s actually crazy how UTK coaching staff has stayed in tact this long. Vitello has had both assistants with him since 2018 and most other coaches since 2020

It doesn’t mean that necessarily. There is still a lot of portal action taking place and they have kept the transfer numbers down by waiting and a lot of teams have already made moves. At this point, before the MLB draft they can pursue any coach they want.

Nah the real comedy would be in doing a combined Texas/Texas A&M board, since they are both from Texas. I spend pretty much zero time on the SEC board, but I would sign up for that shite show.

Timing is a big part of these decisions, trying either to capitalize when a lot of eyes are on the sport or to avoid the conflict of making an announcement at a time that coincides with the title game. Depends on who’s making the decision, and if they’re going after one of these two HC’s.
