Doing away with the SEC East/West format has its benefits, but also carries some sadness for our Ole Miss brethren. That beautiful, yet singular Divisional Champs flag is a bittersweet trophy above Vaught-Hemingway, whispering of a single divisional conquest. As the SEC prepares to redraw its borders, this poignant reminder of a conquered summit will now forever stand as the Rebels' solitary peak, a lone star in a soon-to-be-unified conference sky.

How do Ole Miss fans feel? A nuanced pride, perhaps, or a thrill of anticipation for new rivals and battles yet to come?

Discuss.

Which is fraudulent anyway, so what are we doing here?

Ole Piss lost to LSU in 2003, and LSU won the SEC and National championship that year.

Exactly.

Unlike the Ole Myth, State actually has won the west.

I’m OK with letting them have it tbh. That flag is super sweet!

Just a quick reminder about the only sport that matters. In 1992 the SEC introduced divisions and BAMA vs Florida at Legion Field decided the first SEC Champion. Winner: ALABAMA

32 years later and divisions are no more in the SEC with BAMA vs Georgia closing the show. Winner: ALABAMA

Between 1992 - 2023, SECCG:

BAMA is 1st with 11 victories in 15 appearances

Florida is 2nd with 7 victories in 13 appearances

LSU is 3rd with 5 victories in 7 appearances

Georgia is 4th with 4 victories in 11 appearances

The Barn is 5th with 3 victories in 6 appearances

Tennessee is 6th with 2 victories in 5 appearances

Arkansas is 7th with 0 victories in 3 appearances

Missouri is 8th with 0 victories in 2 appearances

Miss State is 9th with 0 victories in 1 appearance

USC is tied for 9th with 0 victories in 1 appearance

Kentucky, Ole Miss, TAMU, and Vandy have been snake eyes for the last 32 years of the SECCG with divisions.

More than what A&M has. They don't even get a copy of the lousy board game.

It’s one of the “wonders of the world”. It elicits many profound thoughts and discussion. Quite unique and hard for others to measure up. It will forever wave in victory and defiance.

Almost 30 years ago. It’s almost as “irrelevant” now as they claim our national title in 1960 is

It is not that surprising that Ole Miss only had a share of one division championship. They were bad for a lot of years and just mediocre most of the others. They simply didn’t have the players to win the division. They had some superstars, but they didn’t have the talent across the roster.

A bigger surprise to me is that despite having so much NFL level talent, LSU only made the playoffs one single time in the history of the 4 team playoff. On opening night of the 2023 NFL season, LSU was forth in NFL players on an active roster. They were behind only Georgia, Ohio State, and Alabama; three playoff regulars. Yet LSU only appeared once. Even.with a Heisman winner, three first round picks, and six total picks they couldn’t make the playoffs. Not only could they not make the playoffs, they couldn’t even beat lowly Ole Miss. Ouch, that is WilliamTaylor level embarrassing.

Do you really want to compare LSU and Alabama basketball since division play started in 1992?

Um, they never won the West. Why would they have even one flag?

Another stupid post in an otherwise genuine and productive thread, with nothing but the sincerest compassion for our brothers.

You have DeBoer now and are 6 years removed from a national championship. Football is a what have you done for me lately type thing. When you start the season off 1-2 after the UGA beatdown, it will be a worse feeling than when you ran out of free America Online Hours last year a mere few weeks after your trailer park gave everyone free 56k. DeBoer will never be so lucky as to embarrass himself profusely in the playoffs like Bama did this year.

Let’s not even talk about the U Conn beatdown that brought even more shame to the SEC.

Don’t be a dumbass. Sit down.

LSU fan starts troll thread about other SEC school. LSU fan acts surprised when fans of other SEC schools turn it around on them. A tale as old as time.
