A&M wins Sandhurst Competition Again

quote:

Texas A&M again tops Army ROTC teams at Sandhurst competition

West Point, N.Y. – Following months of intense training and qualifying events, Texas A&M’s Army ROTC program took home the ROTC Cup after finishing as the top ROTC team during the 55th Sandhurst Military Skills Competition held at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, April 26-27.

The team, led this year by Texas A&M senior cadet Nicholas Nolan, was also crowned the Army ROTC champion at the event in 2023.

The two-day competition featured 48 teams from service academies, ROTC programs, and international militaries, all contending to be named the 2024 Sandhurst champion.

“I am so proud of the Aggies for coming out here and giving it their all,” said Maj. Gen. Antonio Munera, commanding general of U.S. Army Cadet Command. “The team’s performance on the international stage demonstrates their commitment to leadership excellence.”

The team overcame 15 other ROTC teams that also qualified for the event through one of eight regional Ranger Challenge competitions open to all 274 Army ROTC programs around the nation. The competition at West Point included long-distance movements over rough terrain, team fitness events, small boat movements, and marksmanship and medical skill challenges, among other rigorous tasks.

The Texas A&M team not only won the ROTC Cup, but their impressive performance placed them 4th out of 48 teams in the overall international competition – equaling their overall placement in last year’s event.

I guess what the rant refers to as our "fake" military is actually tougher than the West Point Cadets.

I say this not to insult or mock you... I will leave that to others... but would you like to know who really won that competition?

The US Military Academy Black team took home the title after edging out the Royal Military College of Canada. After them was the Air Force Academy and then the Aggies.

You guys came out on top of the ROTC competition. As you may, or may not, know Army Cadets aren't ROTC. You did beat the various "company" teams competing for the USMA which is impressive but if you are on one of the company teams at the USMA its because you couldn't qualify for the very best team at West Point.

So, congratulations on losing to Army, Air Force, and the Canucks.

They also defeated Army ROTC groups from Georgia, Arkansas and Utrans.

Apparently Army ROTC groups from SC, LoSerU and all the other SEC schools were to scared to even enter the competition.

Well since they are not in the military or have any obligation to the military, it is not in fact the military, so fake military seems fitting.

None of those schools cosplay as a military school, nor are any of their extremely dorky antics made a focal point of most of their schools lame traditions

Sorry to make you look stupid again but you really should not comment on things you do not know or understand.

ALL freshman and sophomores in the Corps of Cadets are ROTC students. Starting your junior year, you have the option of continuing in the ROTC and becoming an officer in one of the branches of the US Armed Forces. Many of these students are already on a military scholarship and are required to continue in the ROTC program.

About half of the junior and senior cadets are in the ROTC and continue on to serve our country in one of the braches of the US Military. The other half just stay in the Corps because they enjoy being in the Corps.

ROTC programs are a part of the US Military but are not considered military service any more so than any other ROTC program at most other SEC schools. There is nothing really "fake" about it. A&M is the largest ROTC program outside of the three military academies and one of only six schools desiginated as Military Colleges across the US.

Again, sorry to make you look stupid but you really should know what you are talking about. It is difference of making yourself look stupid and then proving it beyond a shadow of a doubt.
