Cal is the biggest prima donna in coaching. Just wait until Arkansas gets the bill for his dry cleaning. I remember his bullshite from his time at Memphis.

I posted in the other thread about this, but the change from chasing only 5* recruits to guys who will stay 3-4 years is going to be refreshing. The one and done model has proven not to work anymore, it's why we were having a coaching search to begin with.
I think this might work our really well for us, but only time will tell. His record suggests his teams get better year to year. He hasn't had tournament success yet, but then again, neither has Cal for almost a decade.

A bag of what, money? The money is there. I mean college kids are now millionaires.

Have fun with those 3 star recruits
Also this is the bargaining stage

Did you see all those three stars in the championship game? One scored 37 points. Kids develop at different rates. What was Dalton Knecht? Besides SEC player of the year. Our best player was Reeves. What was he coming out of high school?
There is a bunch of four star talent in Kentucky high school basketball right now. I expect most will come to UK.
One and dones had their day. Older players with one or two young studs has been the winning recipe. Kentucky recruiting will change no doubt.

Enjoy the one and dones and winlessness in March.

I welcome the change. Enjoy being called a Basketball Bennie when your coach doesn't like mild criticism.
BTW I still think one and done can work but only if the coach gets Anthony Davis.

John Calipari when he woke up on Wednesday and realized he'd left Kentucky for Arkansas -

He is taking his staff. Good. They are experienced in doing the after game interviews when he loses a game to someone he shouldn’t.

To say he hasn’t had success is an understatement. He’s never even won a conference championship at BYU.
Sure, he bleeds blue, but just because someone loves their alma mater doesn’t mean they’ll be a great coach. IU learned this the hard way.
All I know is that this guy better know how to evaluate and recruit talent. 3-star Mormon white boys are not going to cut it, and I’m gonna take a guess that he’s smart enough to know that.

Nothing that Arkansas fans haven't experienced with Muss.

But the setup is even better.
If he keeps old habits, he’ll skip the presser after the WTF loss less than a week after stating in the prior press conference that “he coaches his team to own their results”.
Death by a thousand cuts.

Cal mentioned this. Maybe he’ll change up his recruiting practices by bringing in older players from the portal.
Before the portal he brought in the best players he could get but freshmen 1 and dones aren’t likely to win it all but get the fanbase excited. Gotta keep the fanbase happy ya know.
We’ll see what his approach will be now and he has a blank canvas to paint on his own. The portal changed alot of things and it pretty much coincided with his lack of post season success and also made our conference stronger. We’ll see how it pans out.
