Net Domestic Migration by State, 2020-2023:

+132,000 Tennessee
+117,000 Georgia

+ 80,000 Idaho
+ 56,000 Alabama
+ 53,000 Oklahoma

7 of the Top 10 in the new SEC footprint, plus North Carolina makes 8 of the Top 10 for the South.

Seeing a lot of BIG10 states on that list.

As a Louisiana resident, I don’t see this as a problem. The fewer people, the happier I am.

I think this is most surprising out of anything. I understand NC with Charlotte and the crazy growth in the triangle.
But what's the deal with the SC? Old farts flocking to HH & Charleston?

Pretty sure these stats are off. Seems like all 800K departing Californians moved to Austin alone.

Did an internship in New York 15+ years ago. Loved the city. Was back in Manhattan last week for the first time and shocked at how far it’s fallen. Pretty sad to see. Made downtown Houston look utopian.

As a South Carolinian this is painful to see. We're out of room down here.

I'm sure the Census Bureau will have another "whoopsie" counting error in 2030 so that California and New York maintain congressional seats they don't warrant, and the red states will be underrepresented. Funny how those type of mistakes always goes one way...

The problem we're having is all the new york and cali transplants who move here then vote for the same ideology that drove them from those shitholes in the first place. Dumbest mother frickers in the country. They are a fricking cancer.

From my personal experience in meeting newbies, they are moving from California...not to "turn Arkansas blue", but instead to get the hell out of fricktard California.

Red counties in California are eastern and northern Cali, and those are mostly the places IMO that new Arkansas folks from Cali are coming from

Florida has always done pretty well as a retirement state, but there is a real affordability issue. More and more people are starting to feel the impacts.

While still net positive inward, there are also a record number of people leaving the state in recent years.

Louisiana definitely suffers due to its proximity to Texas. Most new graduates that I know have their eyes on Houston and Dallas.
