State expenses vs revenue
Looking at revenue vs expenses even before Georgia turned blue TN was in a significantly superior position. The link allows you to compare up to 3 states at a time, look at trends, and current (as currently available) data. And Tennessee does this with no state income taxes.

But that means Tennessee suffers in other areas right?
Georgia spends roughly 1,000 more per student K-12 (https://www.learner.com/blog/states-that-spend-the-most-on-education#methodology) but have a higher graduation rate than Georgia.
imagine if we didn’t have west TN dragging us down. East TN is booming with a perfect combination of production and tourism. The mild weather, lower crime, great education, and thriving economy make almost ideal. I do miss the hunting and fishing of Georgia but the trade off is more than offsetting it. And I have a plan for fishing this year that includes large mouth fishing again. I will also start back deer hunting such as it is here(they stalk hunt instead of stand hunting).

Now, do per capita... Georgia is in the bottom half along with the rest of the South... and behind Tennessee.

Atlanta's GDP is right around the same as the entire state of Tennessee, genius!
Metro Atlanta Population - 6.14 Million
Tennessee Population - 6.95 Million.
Source - Statista
Metro Atlanta's Population is only about 12% less than the entire state of Tennesssee's...which includes rural Appalachia.

Once Georgia state government goes blue, my guess is Atlanta becomes as bad as SF or Portland and business flees the state. Long term, I'd put my money on Tennessee over Georgia even though I can't stand those dirty Vols.

shite people have been saying that about northern Kentucky since before your momma met your daddy.
Butler county Ohio and beyond have grown pretty significantly too.
Cincinnati is still the engine driving the growth even if city council is lead by a bunch of wackadoos.
State government of Ohio remains very business friendly
most (sane) folks don't want to even go into downtown Cincy, even for a ballgame. I'll give you that Butler and Warren are growing, however, they are a long way out from the City and I can't imagine too many people wanting that commute. With the airport, and all the logistics tied to it, and a GOP legislature since 2016 that is cutting taxes to a rate lower than all midwestern states, NKy has much better prospects going forward

I wish east TN would take Georgia above Rome and become the 51st state. That would end the water nonsense, add huge manufacturing areas and give the new state the port of Appalachia.

Now compare that to Texas. You’d get crushed LOL

For the sake of comparison, how’s Georgia stack up against Florida?
Pretty sure you could combine a couple of the states you mentioned with Georgia and the result would be the same.

You might want to remind your senators that as well as all the people that voted Blue in the last presidential election

So basically you want to claim Atlanta's influence when it fits your agenda (economy), but shun the city when it doesn't fit your agenda (blue state)

Right. Thankfully, rural Georgia is still pretty much like rural Alabama, South Carolina, and Florida.

Since January 20, 2021, Georgia has been represented in the Senate by Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.
Every metro area in Georgia is heavy democrat, and the state is more purple than red the last 10 years

The biggest difference in Tennessee and Georgia politics is that while Atlanta dominates the state Nashville doesn’t. The 3 grand divisions of Tennessee West Middle and East do not allow Nashville to dominate the state.
Population density is insane
Nashville metro 258/sq mi
Atlanta metro 3,685.45/sq mi
