I think all this hype about a "recruiting" coach is just that. Fellas its a business now. There will be a lot more flipping now. First because guys want to secure a spot or schools will just shop for that position in the portal. And second because their number one choice comes calling with more money at a later date.

Now that we are recruiting kids a lot of schools want, we will win and lose some. Cant get caught up on every flip in March, yeah right I forgot what board I am on

It’s every board not just this one. Recruiting is the life blood of a great team. Either we play the “game” or we don’t.

Any recruiting cycle we don’t finish in the top 10 would be considered a failure because we have top 10 interest and money.

But we must address needs each cycle period.

If the coach doesn't matter and it's all about money let's fire everyone, hire a good high school staff for like a million bucks total and splash the other 9 million on the cruits

More just ribbing him because he has posted that exact comment what seems like 10+ times now since he was hired

I want our recruiting to get hotter too, sucks to lose a couple guys here recently. It’s March though.

The only reason he’s any good is because of recruiting

Good lord you say some stupid stuff.

Freeman is a good high school coach. He has a good offensive scheme and would probably make a decent play caller in college but has zero experience past high school athletes. It’s a different level when you have top guys at every position and the defense has a 140 lb safety and a 5’6” corner back to scheme against.

But with any air raid scheme if you don’t have the dogs up front you won’t be successful.

That time and a few others I was mostly joking. But still, the way people talked him up you would expect him to be making a difference with some of these in state guys and so far we've had more decommits than anything.

Right on. It's crazy to think that Hugh was considered an elite recruiter in the "old" method of pre-NIL and transfer portal. His focus on high school players in the era of NIL budgeting will be an interesting experiment.

We got a couple CB's for him last month. Maybe he pulls the trigger this weekend.

I see Dice jumped up the rankings on 247 as well. He has moved up his announcement date three times now, and the last visit he brought his whole family. Wish he would pull the trigger.

Wonder how the Babolola visit went, I think it was earlier this week, by himself (no other recruits that day), so he had the full attention of the coaches. Plus a trio of very good OTs coming this week. Man I wish we could pull in a couple early to enable encouraging the rest.

On a sidenote, I see this Shull kid out of OK we are recruiting has a profile pic with him in a cowboy shirt, wonder how our culture council feels about that knowing we have Chief Wahoo McDaniels Muskrat already on the team

His trip went well, enjoyed his visit a lot and has Auburn very high on his list. Really has a big relationship with Thornton, and likes that his brother is close where he attends Tuskegee.

Will be coming for an official visit, and he really likes the facilities. He enjoyed getting to know Edwin Favour because they are both Nigerian.

Throughout all the practices he watched the player that stood out the most was Keldric Faulk. His size and the way he plays the game.

It’s time for the alumni and business community to step it up and purchase a team…
