Look like y’all on that same list. But that’s not a bad thing. That is money borrowed/owed. Most schools, businesses, and ppl are in debt.if U have a Credit card, house note, car note you are in debt.

faggie had a narrative to sell. They always leave out important details like the insecure scurrilous rodents they are. Like at the bottom of the Oklahoma article where it clearly says "Oklahoma athletics remains profitable even though the operating surplus has contracted in recent years".

You seem to forget the aggy athletic department was in the process of paying back millions of dollars in loans from the general fund when you joined the SEC.
They were getting loans from about 2003 forward to keep the athletic department afloat.
Y’all seem to be relatively ok now?

OU athletic department is $192 million in debt per last report I saw.
That’s a lot of Mary Kay…

Dude you couldn't even afford the big12 buyout.
Selling bonds to boosters (when interest rates were at historical lows) to make large strategic investments makes sense. Entirely different matter. By your logic the longhorns are broke which is shite logic.
Your athletic department is milked for a source of funds for the university and doesn't get shite from the state.
You are bringing a knife to a facilites gunfight.

quote:I'm in favor of Louisiana annexing large swathes of East Texas (including Collie station) so we no longer have to share our state name. Sure it will make the state slightly smaller, but the benefits are more than worth it.
So we can ascertain from the information supplied that both of texas' 'major' athletic programs have more athletic department debt than Oklahoma.
Thus concludes this comical episode of "when texans talk shite".

I mean, we've let Tennessee stay all these years, why not one more?

They’re broke and broken

Now we're talking about "muh facilities" because you made a stupid thread???? Nobody gives a shite about your facilities. You spent a frick-ton of money to polish up a turd, and you've gotten ZERO return on your "investment". Absolutely nothing, zip, zilch, nada.
And yeah you're right. OU's program stands on its own and doesn't take welfare from the state.

Except that these are the golden times for college athletics re:money, and even then they have debt.
when the money train crashes the implosions will be glorious to watch.

Money keeps flowing as long as you keep buying gas.

Leave accounting for public universities to the pros..assets are valued & borrowed against..but will never be sold..kinda like the Vatican..worth billions..but to whom..as if it would ever be sold..kind of a big shell game..I doubt OU is in long term danger...but always watch Castiglione...like a hawk...when he was at Mizzou..b4 he left for OU ..his girlfriend got caught in quite the scam at Mizzou..& we know he was involved..but apparently some other big wigs were too..so it just went away..a snake may shed it's skin...but ..well you know..

Take their broke arse over the Faggies gay arse any day. Typical Aggie post, about money, ignoring the fact that their money has not helped them at all and they are still completely irrelevant.

Who cares.
The SEC does everything in its power to make invitees rich rather than poor so they can put the best product on the field. This makes it stand apart from all other conferences.
Also, if OU starts consistently losing to Mizzou, Texas, and Kentucky, then y’all can pile on the told-ya-sos. OU is a win-win addition until Texas tells them to do bad for the conference and maybe they still have to listen.

The Aggie Hall of Champions is really roomy. You can stretch your legs out. None of those pesky trophies in the way.
