It is concerning when folks like Sayin, Bond, and Niblack leave when they stand to flourish in the scheme. Bond never gave DeBoer a chance but Sayin and Niblack were given some 1 on 1 time and decided to pop smoke. A lot of these guys were just here to play for Saban and that’s just how it is going to be even if their reasoning for leaving is sorta silly considering the new coach’s background.

Knew this one was coming. He was directly recruited by Saban. The man was in Sayin's living room a month ago for a photo before he signed.

Stop melting, these high 4/5 star guys who came to Bama because of Saban are going to transfer en masse because they can get a bigger bag somewhere else, and Saban isn't here anymore.

Replace them with people who want to be here.

In the words of coach Saban. I don't answer hypothetical questions.

No way this is on DeBoer at all. You can’t hold a gun to these kids and make them stay. They weren’t his guys. He will get his players. Quit crying you babies.

If he had a stronger recruiting track record, I wouldn’t be worried. But everyone knew recruiting was likely his weakness coming in, and the only news to date seems to affirm that’s a weakness.

But I’m not gonna give up on the guy until we actually see the on-field product.

No chance and all the sunshine pumpers know it. I am very concerned by CKD’s lack of charisma. You need that to recruit and he doesn’t appear to have a whole lot of it.

Weren’t you the guy in a way too early prediction topic saying you expected nothing less than a national title less than 2 days ago (maybe 1 day)?

No great excuse here really.

Other than the kid looked at who was in front of him in the qb room and said "I ain't playing anytime soon."

No. I said I expected a playoff berth next year. Still do.

Another question: would Sayin have moved across the country in the first place for anyone but Nick Saban?

All these guys were willing to wait and hear the new coaching staff out. None of them believed in CKD’s vision. Bleak.

I’m not as down in the dumps overall as you sound, but there’s definitely something not great about the timing here. He clearly gave the new staff a chance and some time to talk and get to know each other.

I’m team Deboer but his Alabama tenure so far has been every player on the fence jumping ship.

He better win games year 1. We understood it with Saban taking over a mostly talentless roster. KDB has taken over the best roster in football and failed to retain an alarming amount of key pieces.

Amongst all the trolling in the SECrant there is one truth being said...Bama fans are soft. Imagine melting about a QB who hasnt even seen one single spring game. This kid wouldnt have been a factor for at least 3 seasons.

Another gut punch. I wish we could keep him and everyone else but that it is what it is.

There's no way to know on Sarkisian or Lanning, but definitely with Kiffin. Kiffin just lost his best player to the portal in Judkins. He hasn't landed a single guy from Bama yet despite how easy it seems at the moment. Just because he calls himself the portal king on Twitter doesn't make it true.

With “DeSaster” as the HC?

I’m trying to understand your logic but I think that would involve drinking at 8am.

Agreed. Don't think Mack is here unless Sayin told DeBoer he was gone.

Have you watched his tape? He'd have been starting next year at the latest. He's on the same level Tua and Bryce were out of high school if not better.

This is hard to say. A lot of this is prior relationships which DeBoer doesn’t have many with our guys because Washington never had a shot with most of them.

I think the same could be said of Ole Miss, and until he landed at the wealthiest program in the country, Sark wasn’t considered an elite recruiter except for QBs.

Lanning is the only guy on that list I think actually has unique recruiting traits, but Oregon’s NIL program is loaded too.
