Saban fired Kiffen the day before the NCG that year. Rather doubtful then that he would change his mind, especially to this degree.

Kiffin has burned some bridges. He is also on record saying that taking the Alabama job after Saban would be idiotic or career suicide or something along those lines.

So considering that, other than trying to make yourself feel more relevant, why do you think Alabama offered Lane the job? If you have receipts, you can set this place on fire. So pony up.

Lane told Bama No! Saban was shocked!
look no need to get silly. I wanted Lane, for one thing. I think he's a great coach and for another it would have been very entertaining to have him as the head coach, but let's not fool ourselves. . He had been asked he would have already been in Tuscaloosa same day

The guy he fired and left at the airport? He didn’t want Lane when he had Lane. Don’t be so fricking stupid.

Saban wouldn’t allow him. He fired lane and that cost us a title, remember?
