I think his offense will excite the current players, and TRob as DC would probably keep most of the defense, if not all.

Feel like Byrne hit a home run.

Lol you mean when the rest of the world and ESPN got the "thumbs up"? What a coincidence.

I just spent 10 minutes scrolling through the last 33 pages to catch up.

The real gift that Saban left for us has been this thread.

Me liking this hire is all going to depend on how many enter the portal now that it's announced.

This shouldn't have been a rebuild and let's hope that's not the case.

If we can keep most of the key guys here then I'm on board.

Deboer is a damn good football coach. Those Washington teams have been fun to watch the last two seasons.

I've been trading derivatives at a very high level for a long time and a lesson that is true as time is generally the position or view that makes you feel the most comfortable is the wrong one and one that can really hurt you. I just say that because I think DeBoer is that slightly uncomfortable hire given the sentiment from the fan base that will be humble enough to do the nitty gritty work it takes to be successful without the flash and ego. That is really important as a coach, trading, life etc. He's been a winner everywhere he is at and had to earn it. He didn't have an easy path and I feel like those are the intangibles that are important for success in anything.

Also can I just say how funny the A&M search was compared to this lol. They got a football coach from a basketball school and Bama gets a coach who has gone 104-12. I don't know why I find it so funny still but I do. God bless Elko haha.

Anyway, good luck boys, I'm glad he will stop beating the ducks haha.

And how many of Saban’s defensive coaches he can keep.

There are about a half dozen coaches that would be considered this.
And yes, I'll include deboer.
It still could crumble, but I doubt it

The barniest is Dabo. Urban is second but damn I would love it.

Nah. He's just a washed up, arrogant goober. Though he does like deflecting with Jesus, like Auburn coaches live to do.

The barniest shite is hiring a disgraced coach who hasn't done anything redeeming, for the blatant desire to let it all cost. That shits embarrassing. That's the kind of shite mentality that led to Sandusky getting away with pure evil for so many years.

Literally the only reason I hold against Shula. I won't hate someone just because they suck. But he fricking ruined his career over arrogance.
