You take that back. No one says it’s Franklin.

I didn't watch it all but I did hear Pate allude to the fact that he thinks the hire will be made very shortly.

The obvious choice
Lol. If Saban's replacement went 10-2, , 10-3, 11-3, and then 9-4 you would probably be screaming to fire him after this season. No way we'd accept 8-4 (who cares about bowl game results anymore) after 2 consecutive 3 loss seasons. And that's in the weak arse ACC.

Can't do it, the follicles have spoken.

There are so many Bama fans who despise Dabo that I think he would be suicidal coming here.
Good thing Saban didn't retire a few years ago. He might've been the lead candidate.

Now he did say that

A lot of the anger about Dabo is precisely because he beat Bama twice.
I'd hire Kirby in a heartbeat. I'd be thrilled with Sark. But Dabo is a fricking goober that hasn't had any success after his coordinators finally left (while ours got poached almost every year). There's another coach who beat Saban. And i think he's an a-hole for almost the same reasons.

You'd think that would make him more desirable. It definitely does to me.

I would have loved Dabo if Saban hung it up in 2019.
Then NIL and transfer portal happened and he went into “get off my lawn” mode like an octogenarian rather than a 54 year old coach in his prime.
Anyone dumb enough to tank a Top 3 program at the time dying on that hill in his 50s is too dumb to inherit the crown.

Sounds like Lanning is going to be it. Well that was fast

I'd be thrilled if so.

There are a lot of fans saying it on Facebook but not a single media source I can find that have said it. Not even the ones people claim have said it.
