DeBoer is fricking killing it with these hires.

Crazy how Husky Harsin keeps hiring all these guys who specialize in roster building and recruiting. Seems like a waste for a guy who obviously isn't going to put in the work down here and get run out of town by Brother Hugh in a couple of years.

This is grand, our new QB of the future who already knows the system, and is built like Zeus, is currently trying to teach the system to Milroe.
It's too bad Bama cant offer their own version of Hard Knocks because this offseason is going to be pure gold.
I would be willing to drop stupid money to have coverage from now to week 1.
Bama could make enough to fund their NIL fund for ten years.
It's really a tragedy that this offseason after Saban will likely not be documented.

The one behind Reggie Jackson is Warren Moon.

The “Other College Games, Teams” thread has vanished so I’m parking this here. Looks like DeBoer is already a SEC trend setter

Lane Kiffin is hiring Billy Glasscock as @OleMissFB's GM, sources tell ESPN. Glasscock was Steve Sarkisian's player personnel guy the last three years at Texas and previously served in similar roles at NC State and Minnesota. Glasscock has a strong rep as a keen talent evaluator.

Yeah. We got rid of it. It was 3 seasons worth of information and just took up a huge chunk of board space.
You want to start a new one?

Yeah - not sure anyone was getting value from it. it can probably wait until next football season. Thanks!

It would definitely suck, but it's DeBoer's scheme that Grubb runs, so I think DeBoer can backfill with a guy who's familiar with his system.

Hopefully he won't get it. Also he's only been in Washington for a couple of years, so hopefully he's not gotten roots there.

Unless he just really cannot personally tolerate living in the South, randomly bailing on the guy you have tied your career to for years to go work for a 36 year old first time HC in a league you've never coached in would be a weird career move.

Man id like to get at least a year to two from Grubb WTF

Depends on if they actually plan to saddle Grubb with Milroe this season.
If I'm Grubb I'm asking if we are moving forward with my hand picked QB that already knows the offense, or "trying to build an offense around Milroe."
Then I look at last years film of Milroe.
Grubb stock is sky high right now due to Penix running the offense, and creating 2 1k yard WR's, and 1 1k yard RB.
Alabama didn't come close to producing 1 player of any sort with 1k yards last year with Milroe.
..
His stock could possibly take a dive if they move forward with Milroe, and the offense turns into a train wreck... Look what happened to Rees. His career definitely took a beating last year. Guy is going to be coaching TE's in Cleveland next year.

So I can't help but notice that all of our master's recipients got the exact same degree. Anyone know what exactly "sport management" is?
Posted on 2/1/24 at 7:56 pm to Robot Santa
IMO most sport management programs are business management degrees with specialized classes in like sports marketing, sports analytics, athletic related internships etc.
I generally recommend you just get the biz management and take the sports management courses as electives and do a sports internship and a tradional biz internship to make yourself more marketable in case you decide to work outside of sports.
It is like when people get Forensic Science degrees. I'm like get a Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science whatever, take Forensic electives and double up on the internships. That way when you inevitably can't find a job in Forensics out of college you have a fall back instead of looking specialized.
