Kick 6 at the end of the game and gave AU the win. About 10 years ago.
Or the Bama play this season to seal the victory called the Grave Digger.

Depending on their age, there could be multiple different answers. This rivalry is nuts ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Hmmm… 4th and 30 fluke against a team that got drilled by New Mexico State 7 days earlier.
OR
109 yard field goal return vs #1 who had won back to back championships in a Top 5 matchup.
Gumps are fricking retards. Your play was embarrassing, their play was epic. Get over it

The 2 plays aren't in the same stratosphere. Kick 6 might be the greatest play in CFB history.

One featured two teams playing for the west.
The other featured a team beat a 6 loss team.

I asked a non Bama Auburn fan this morning and he said without a doubt Punt Bama punt was his. Bama up 16-3 mid way through the fourth and blocked two punts both returned for TD's.
As he put it, Auburn could have started every drive on Bama's 5 and Auburn wouldn't have scored but blocked two punts. That game more than any has the most incredible finishes. Best rivalry in sports brings those types of plays.
He also said "the Kick". Bama goes down and kicks a 52 yard FG on the last play converting a 3rd and 18 along the way.

Kick 6 and Grave Digger are probably the most memorable to me, only because I had to listen to both on the radio while driving somewhere.
It is one thing to see it live or on TV, but they both stick out even more if you are drawing your own picture in your brain of what just heard.

If I was not a Bama fan I would say kick 6 was better. But being a Bama fan, that 4th and 31 was the best iron bowl moment ever for me! Fear the thumb!

Without a doubt it was the Punt Bama Punt game in 1972. The odds of that occurring twice in the closing minutes of the game are infinitely small.
I think it was the same guy that blocked both punts and the same guy that ran it in for touchdowns. I recall news stories that a few Bama fans who had left the game before the end thinking they had won it, were having heart attacks on the highways. A few died. I’m from Alabama, though not a fan of either, and I was 15. The craziest end to a game I have ever seen.

Three must watch games for me every year.
- Army vs Navy
- Iron Bowl
- Egg Bowl
Something crazy is going to happen in at least two of the three.

The kick six. I sat there thinking how that shite could happen. Then, I realized it was Auburn and Alabama, who have both sold their souls and the devil just chose to go with Auburn that day.

Many took the position that 4th and 31 wasn’t that relevant because it didn’t have playoff implications. So if Bama wins the National Championship, I can only presume that everyone will acknowledge it as the greatest regular season play of all time ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconPimp.gif)

Kick 6 was the greatest play in college football history. People will be talking about it 100 years from now. Very few outside of Bama fans will remember 4th and 31.

Man, 21-0 really decimated an entire fan base and turned every one of them into sandy, bleeding vag's.

The only football play that even comes close to kick 6 is the miracle in the meadowlands.
To find a play that actually beats it, you have to go outside football. Arkansas + CWS = lulz.
Bama has plenty of actual great moments, but in terms of “c’mon mans” there is no way around eating that one. Probably will never be surpassed.

The thing about the Iron Bowl is it’s almost always a good game. Since Pat Dye changed the game forever in 1982:
Iron Bowls with Auburn winning by one possession or less (14): 1982, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1993, 1995, 1997, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2019
Iron Bowls with Alabama winning by one possession or less (8): 1984, 1985, 1991, 1994, 1996, 2009, 2021, 2023
Iron Bowls with Auburn winning by two possessions (9-16 points) (6): 1987, 1989, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2017
Iron Bowls with Alabama winning by two possessions (9-16 points) (4): 1990, 1999, 2014, 2015
Blowout Iron Bowls (17 points+), all won by Bama (10): 1992, 1998, 2001, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022
A total of 42 games played.
22 came down to a single possession (52%)
10 came down to just 2 possessions (23%)
10 were not very close (23%)
In this age of CFB, there are few rivalries (especially ones involving Bama) in which over 75% of games played were still a game in the 4th quarter, going back well over 4 decades.
Oh, and Bama leads the series just 22-20. That’s incredibly close.
