The AD will be gone soon enough. He sealed his fate during the coaching search. Cannot fire the AD until after the new coaching staff is in place

Re: Bear’s record at A&M. That first year was the Junction Boys camp where Bear went to separate out the “quitters from the keepers”. Look at his next two years and you can see what he did. That last year A&M was in line for the NC until Bama’s almost tortious interference near the end of the season leaked out that “Mama called”. We understand what that means and why he had to go; just file it under what might have been.

This led to one of the great pictures of all time in the Bama-A&M series later:

I feel like everyone in SEC thinks that Texas wouldn't be in the playoffs this year if they had already been in SEC. Chalk it up to playing in an easy Big 12.

This would have been the way to go. And I honestly think he could have gotten them in 7 through 11 and into the big dance (remember, the 12 seed goes to a shitty G5 team no matter what).

Understand the frustration and all of the jokes about one more year, but in this instance I think they should have waited. Elko would have been available in 2024 and more experienced as a head coach.

I think you are assuming the talent would have stayed if we kept Jimbo. And personally I think that's not the case. This year was the "one more year to show improvement". And it didn't happen. All those talented players on our roster know every bit as well as the rest of us at this point that Jimbo and the program weren't going to change. I think the players who want to compete for hardware would be in the portal even our staff stayed intact.

Our #1 class guys were sophomores this year. They have 2 years left. If they're going to make a move, this is the year they're going to do it.

You are correct. That is a variable I am counting on. If the players he recruited moved on then my theory falls apart.

So y’all ridicule A&M for how ever many losses in a row on the road, being State’s bitch most years, and not winning the division with a coach that had been there 6 years,

This is how Aggies miss the point.
SEC is tough, you'all have competed and faired well at times. The pretentiousness that its somehow inevitable that A&M is destined for greatness is why people laugh at you. Not saying it’s impossible but stop it with the idea you guys have significant advantages over 80% of the other programs in the conference. You don’t

A&M will never win anything of consequence in my lifetime. I've come to accept that. I just want to make everyone else's lives miserable with some great upsets. Enough to keep several teams from competing

Maybe, but this Texas team actually is really good. We may have only had one loss if Quinn was on the field all season and been in the SECCG. This team still beat a ranked K-State with its backup QB.

You're not wrong. Texas Exes can definitely be on the pretentious side.

So we shouldn’t want to win? Got it.

I grew up in Louisiana my entire life. I had no idea I was going to Texas until I decided to go back to school.

Good for you. It's a good academic school. Did you go back to LA, or did you get the hell out of dodge?

What part of Austin? Hopefully away from downtown with all the homeless everywhere.

Yes rip off the bandaid. I agree we might have had a good season next year if we kept our talent together but Jimbo was never going to adapt. That was and will be the issue. Keep in mind that we may still have lost a lot of people. Jimbo wasn’t gonna fire Durkin so ERob likely leaves for Syracuse and a lot of his guys leave anyway.
