No they didn’t.

They have the easiest job ever today. I doubt it takes more than 30 seconds. Bama already lost to Texas, now they don’t have to see it twice.

Amputated Cam Newton isn’t a national championship QB. Though I’m sure you guys will still claim it, per usual.

It all depends on if the committee uses the most deserving criteria than it will be Michigan, Washington, Florida State, and Texas. Florida State did beat LSU and Florida out of conference and go undefeated while Texas won at Bama. If the committee wants the best 4 though Florida State will be out and Bams makes it.

Who has a leg to stand on feeling they got left out?
Undefeated P5 conference champs are in. Michigan and FSU get 2 spots.
There are 3 1 loss P5 conferences champions with 2 spots available. Washington beat the only team to beat them
Texas beat Bama
Bama to 5 with the field of 4 clean and clear. Zero controversy.

Alabama lost at home to Texas by double digits.

Alabama needed a once in a decade Hail Mary to beat a 6-6 Auburn team.

Sorry guys. Nice season. Congrats on the SEC title. You don’t deserve to get in and the body of work for Alabama isn’t better either.

The BEST four teams in the country right now are Michigan, Texas, Bama, and UGA. If you’re choosing the best four, this is who you choose.

If you’re choosing conference champs and records, then it’s Michigan, Washington, FSU, and Texas.

The Committee has a tough choice ahead of them. If they choose the BEST teams, then they will get backlash. If they pick the conference champs, they know that these aren’t the BEST four teams.

I don’t know how I missed that. Then it’s even simpler.
3 P5 undefeated teams in and Texas won the head to head with Bama for the last spot.

No controversy at all.

The truth is - they've lucked out most years but only have themselves to blame.

All because Bammer can't win their damn games.

Why even play the games if an undefeated conference champion gets left out?

When Saban retires and his last legitimate title was in 2017, will Bama fans still be saying “yeah but we were the best team in 2023” because no one else will be talking about the SEC championship. I’ve already forgotten it

I’m not a fan of any of those teams, so I don’t have a dog in the fight. In fact, two of those teams are my team’s biggest rivals, so it pains me to write it; but it’s true. They are the best, most talented teams in the country. It’s true that other teams went undefeated and won their conferences, but they’re not better.

Do I wish that winning your conference was a prerequisite for getting in? Yes. But, that ship sailed years ago.

This will be settled next year when it expands to 12 teams. The conference champs will all get a bid, then the best at large teams will too. It’ll be a much better scenario.

No one is considering TV and matchups.....Think of the ratings a Texas - Bama rematch would bring? As opposed to FSU getting took to the woodshed.
