I do not think you guys get it, its just a damned poll until the last week. If Bama beats UGA they are in no matter what else happens. BANK IT. An SEC team has won 12 of the last 16 titles and lost five other title games, with an SEC vs. SEC three times in those 5. So, only one time has an SEC not been in the title game since 2007. (2014)
Its just not important now.

“If Bama wins the SEC they move to 5 and UGa moves to 4. Auburn gave Bama half a loss.”
UGA is out if they lose.
UGA is out if they lose.

The chaos will be if Michigan, Oregon, Bama and Texas wins and FSU, UGA, and Washington loses.
That puts Michigan and Texas as the only locks. Bama would likely get in but the 4th spot would be a mess.

Our worst performance was LSU.

Getting nowhere
That's because there was no where to go. Beating auburn 45-0 wasn't gonna get any movement either. This weeks poll is about as meaningless as it gets.
But if Bama beats UGA (big if) that changes the dynamics TOTALLY. Mich would be in, FSU would be in, Texas would be in and if Oregon beats washington it would then come to a decision on Oregon or Bama.

if they move Bama to #4 even if they best UGA, who played a terrible schedule.
Did anyone else beat 3 in the top 21?

The only way they wouldn't make it then would be if the committee for somehow decided Oregon looked better than Bama in their other games.

But I fully expect something unexpected to happen. Someone that no one expects will lose. Like Michigan, Texas, or FSU.

Bama is not beating UGA, they should have lost to Auburn.

Who cares. Beat UGA and it keeps them out. I am good with that.

Ohio State lost a road game to an undefeated team and dropped 4 spots.
Do you think if Georgia loses to Bama, they will drop 4 spots as well? Nope, it will be Bama and Georgia both getting in, relax.

If we werent going to 12 next year then this season would be all the proof needed that SOS (as in scheduling tough OCC opponents) isn't in anyone's best interest, just have cupcake parties as often as possible. Having said that, going to 12 may have the same effect tbh...just cruise through a weak schedule undefeated and you're in.
Watch TEXAS & BAMA get left out with one loss while being the only teams in consideration that have matched up out of conference.
PAC 12 and B10 ranked teams never left their region, outside of tOSU who has proven to be a championship caliber contender in recent years, but they lost to UM.. how do we know these conference leaders are legit? We certainly can't say that about Washington & Oregon.
Thankfully it expands to 12 teams in '24.

If Texas wins the conference championship, they will then end their Big 12 affiliation and technically be in the SEC.
If they get in the playoffs, you could say the SEC has a representative.

Is this where us Bama fans respond with "LSU Melt Day 35" or whatever?
