My wife and I were offered tix yesterday by a friend of ours in the UGAA Dept., but we're unable to go. Will stay here in Los Angeles.
But, I've only been once to a game in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. It's a beautiful and enormous place. If you can make it, go.
If you fly into Atlanta, you can take the terminal trains from your arriving gate/concourse to the trains from the terminal into downtown Atlanta! Or, take the Skytrain from the Terminals to your Airport area hotels and/or rental car station.
We stayed at the Peachtree Plaza Hotel in downtown and it was easy as pie. Zip-zip, train to train and voila! there we were in the hotel lobby just like that.
Within easy walking distance from the Benz and other downtown hotels are the..... College Football Hall of Fame, Centennial Olympic Park celebrating the 1996 Olympics when they were there, The World of Coca-Cola Museum, Hard Rock Cafe, the Georgia Aquarium (world's largest), and easy access to trains that'll take you into Buckhead for the finest shopping this side of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Atlanta's famous for its great restaurants, too. Downtown also has great shopping and eating places.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit there; of course, every big city like Atlanta has crime problems (nothing compared to what's going on here in Los Angeles, though), and you should be on your guard when walking around, but it's relatively safe. We felt at ease for the most part.
KO at 4pm weather in Atlanta: Rain & 60 degrees, but the game's indoors. If you go, enjoy! Wish we could make it.
Atlanta Hartsfield Int'l Airport trains that take you from terminals to concourses and back
Atlanta Airport Skytrain that takes you to Airport Hotels and Rental Car Stations
Atlanta Subway trains that take you from Airport Terminal to Downtown Atlanta and elsewhere
Notice how the Benz dwarfs the Georgia Dome Stadium next to it.
Centennial Olympic Park
College Football Hall of Fame
Georgia Aquarium
The World of Coca-Cola Museum
Hard Rock Cafe, downtown Atlanta
GO DAWGS!!! SIC'EM!!! BEAT BAMA!!!

Queue the people who have never left the state of Alabama, except to go to Disney World that one time, who think that Atlanta is a shite hole and Atlanta is dangerous.

Why are you explaining Atlanta to a board of southerners like it's Stuttgart? Especially Georgia and Alabama fans?
97% of them have been to Atlanta. Hell half of them live here.

Heading over Friday. One of my favorite games and I hope we don't lose the SECC due to the playoff expansion.
We always stay at the Marriott Marquis Downtown. It is the Alabama team hotel on odd years and the East hotel on even years. It is less than a mile to the stadium.
Had a banker offer to upgrade my seats to club level. Took him up on the offer because in years past those are the only sections where you can get alcohol. Can anyone confirm if that is still the case?

I will have my tailgate setup in the Home Depot back yard for a party. It will be a bunch of clients and spouses. Probably 2/1 ratio of UGA/Bama fans.
We have a big block of seats in sec 110.

In my life I have missed one. Bama vs Florida in 2016 I believe it was. I went to the first two in Birmingham and back then they wanted you to get on auto renewal so we did and we just get tickets every year automatically charged to us and if Bama isn’t playing we sell them.
I liked the old Ga done much better but hey. I think this will be my 14th or so trip. Can’t remember exactly. Been so many??

Any grown man who is genuinely afraid of going to Atlanta (or New Orleans) is a raging pansy. It's all part of the neutering of the American male.

Got 4 on the east side, club level at about the 35 yard line. Section allows alcohol sells. May or may not be in attendance depending on how much the price goes up between now and Friday. Doubt they will be as much as 2021 but fully expect them to be worth more than last year. If they get to 80% of 2021 they gone for certain...have been to many SEC CGs, at this point like money more than attending games in person.

lol, Atlanta doesn’t look like those pics.

There is literally no reason to stay or even visit downtown Atlanta. Much more to see and do in Midtown, West Midtown, Eastside Beltline, or even Buckhead.

I will be there. Have been to every SECCG we've played thus far, and have bene to every game against bama post-1995. Wouldn't miss it.

Used to, not any more. Cost too much and I am umpiring a 2 day girls fast pitch tournament. 22 games in two days plus all expenses. Not passing up that for any game.

Wow, really surprised. Thought for sure you were a L5P Vortex/Yacht Club kind of guy.

Careful with that nose stuck up in the air, you might drown if it rains.
I’m a just redneck rube, lifelong Alabama resident and have been to Atlanta 100 times minimum. I’ve stayed at the Marrriot Marquis downtown to the St Regis in Buckhead. I’ve been to the old Georgia Dome and Mercedes Dome for Falcons games, Peach Bowls and Atlanta United games, usually with passes to the AMG private lounge at the MB Dome. Sat next Arthur Blank’s son and family once. I could have reached out and touched the soccer players from our VIP seats on the sideline. I could probably find my way from Piedmont Park through Virginia Highland to Little Five Points with my eyes closed, with a side trip on the Beltline.
But thank you for informing us ignorant Alabamians who’ve never been out of our state. Very impressive.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbow.gif)

I would rather get stabbed on a MARTA than read this thread again.

To get back on topic, I will be there.
