They have like 5 of the richest mfers on the planet as alumni donors, just not millions of them, and they don’t care about football

I didn't read the article but they have a legitimate gripe. NIL was never supposed to be about boosters laundering money to players. It was supposed to be for players to sign autographs at a car dealership for a few hundred bucks without being expelled by the NCAA, or get a tiny royalty from a video game that would have amounted to about $20 a month.

They have the Walton family. I think they are fine.

Read it. I mean, it's a whine and has legit brainstorm points as well. The Pittman NIL Cap is kind of thought provoking honestly. But, yeah. We need to do miles better.

I agree with you in principle. But most major programs have cheated since at least the 1980s. At this point I think the most practically enforceable thing to do is to lessen the restrictions for everyone.

Our NIL $ goes to sports that show they deserve it and it’s working. football hasn’t shown that. Hire a coach that makes that happen and the money will come.

Everyone but the blue bloods of college football should be worried about NIL. I still think nothing outside of the P5 teams will exist in 10-20 years, and even some of them like your Rutgers and Northwesterns are probably fricked too.

We went from amateurism to professional highly paid athletes in the blink of an eye. There was literally no thought put into NIL.
It became immediately a bidding war for players. And many of these players are being paid ridiculous amounts of money, similar to coaches and athletic facilities spending.
Sports spending is unreal. Dickinson told UK he wanted $2M to sign with UK. It's what it is now because no one considered the pandoras box they were opening.

Anyone who thought it wouldn't end up being this is a moron.

Other SEC programs checked in on the list, including Tennessee at No.1, Texas A&M at No. 2 and Texas at No. 4. It's worth noting that A&M's 12th Man+ Fund has since been discontinued.

It says they have the 8th highest collective nationally while bemoaning Ole miss who is 9th?

I would bet most of that collective funding goes to basketball and smaller portion to baseball.
Arkansas football NIL is far behind the tops in the SEC. In basketball, they are probably top 3-5 in the nation.
Just a matter of having a billionaire family invested in one program and not in another due to the leadership at the top of the program.
Muss is a monster. Pittman is a scared kitty cat by the jukebox.

The Waltons don't care for sports unless it is bike trails.
The Hunt family has been carrying the load.

Bud Walton is dead. His heirs don't give a shite about Arkansas football.

Walton family and Jerry Jones own NFL football teams, they don't need to play owner at their alma mater. The key to good booster health is a collection of indisputably wealthy people who care about athletics but aren't quite wealthy enough to be an owner of a top professional sports franchise.
The Yella Fella is the richest man in Alabama but he's not rich enough to own the Falcons. So Auburn University Football it is for Jimmy.
