For us old farts who were around, does this game have the same vibes as the 1992 Alabama vs Miami National Championship game ?

Why would it feel like that? Georgia will be the favorite but not a massive favorite.

Assuming we play well the next 2 weeks we won't be nearly as big of universal underdogs as we were in 2021.

Not really. We were legit big time underdogs in that game. Spread was around 9-10 if memory serves. And no one in the media was giving us a shot. I’d bet this spread will close at no more than 3-4, and I think we will be a trendy pick

Georgia's winning streak is impressive, but I agree, they're not going to be a "massive" favorite, unless they obliterate Tennessee, and we implode big time against Auburn.

The Iron Bowl scares me more, you never know in that game, and that stadium has some bad juju !

I’m always worried about the Auburn game but I’m trying not to by talking about the bigger hurdle which is UGA.

Everyone views us as the lesser team especially after the beatdown of Ole Miss. People on the media always try to compare wins against like team and never matchups. Football is all about the matchups. I think we do some things UGA will have a lot of trouble with and we have the same amount of talent as them.

Idk but I feel fairly confident about this game. I feel like we are going to punch UGA in the mouth.

No.

I'd say a case could be made for a closeness to the 2009 SEC CG.

Bama lost the previous postseason matchup vs the Gators. Cost Bama a BCS berth, and UF won.

UF was a similar favorite, with tons of momentum and confidence and an edge in overall talent and experience.

Hopefully, a similar result.

Florida was also similar in that they had been sleepwalking against mediocre opponents and then obliterated teams that they felt motivated for.

If we handle Auburn like we should I feel confident in beating UGA. However, the barn always plays well against us in JHS and if we struggle in that one I can see us limping into Atlanta and getting popped early by UGA and then can't catch back up like against Texas earlier in the year.

Worst thing that could happen to BAMA is uga lose before the SECCG.

OH, and BAMA is going to curb-stomp the barn.

Uga doesn't set the edge like their 2 prior teams. Look for Milroe to be able to break contain on the edges and our backs too.
Uga has also played exactly 1 qb that could push the ball down field (Mizzou) and 1 that was dynamic (Dart).
Kirby was able to get them up for Ole Miss and Mizzou. Home games. Big loud crowds. This game will be a different animal. If uga continues their trend of starting slowly, this game could get out of hand. UF nor Ole Miss is running out of the tunnel in ATL.
Also, their qb has not dealt with a pass rush like BAMA has. Our corners can cover their WRs, too. Hit Beck a few times early, and again, this game could get out of hand. Got to make Beck uncomfortable and throw on the run. McHonkey and Bowers will need huge games for them.
Forgive me, but uga doesn't really worry me that much. BAMA will win by 2 TDs.

If uga punts 5x or more or turns it over 2x or more, BAMA will win by more than 2 TDs.

Bama’s defense is a legit problem. Missouri’s defense is good, but not like ours.

I read a stat after the Uga/Ole miss game that Carson Beck has only been sacked 8 time all year. Missouri got 3 of those.

Doesn't feel that way at all to me. We are hitting our stride. UGA is the favorite, but I don't feel like they are as clear a favorite as they were in say 2021 when we went in there and whipped them.

Probably. Even more reason to get him out early this week and let Simpson get some reps.

Just don't let Bowers beat us. It's crazy how often he's just wide open and running free. Does he run a 4.2? Crazy. Georgia really utilizes their TEs, even when Bowers was out.
