For sure should claim the 2004 championship. 1993 is a little bit of a stretch but I know some nations polls had us number 1 so no different then any other school.

This is based on the NCAA Record Book, which lists those 5, but not 2004. Sucks. But I think that is the best way to do it. "The NCAA book identifies these 5 years as NCs for Auburn. If you don't like it take it up with the NCAA." Sucks for 2004, though.

Why would we claim a championship that someone else won?
Claiming championships after the fact is lame
We didnt win the championship in 2004 no matter how much it hurts. If we have a right to claim it, does does Utah

“Claimed” has always been a part of the national championship for Auburn fans and the entire SEC. It’s like calling the National championship the MNC.
It still is MNC and “claimed” because there are no defined rules for that if you do this and get in the playoffs you are the champion. It still matters the name on the front of the jersey.

Just to be clear, though, we aren't claiming anything. This is based on the NCAA record book.
That’s my take. Just listing what the record book has

1. I am not saying Auburn won any NCs. The NCAA is.
2. I don't care what Utah does. Do you? They can claim 100 NCs for all I care.
3. I wish an NCAA recognized organization had awarded Auburn the 2004 NC, but apparently none did.
4. An NCAA recognized organization did award Auburn NCs in 1913, 1957, 1983, 1993, and 2010. (Just click on the link to find out.) Do you take issue with that? If so, please take it up with the NCAA.

I'm just hoping Auburn prints the damn shirts so I can get one and write 2004 in.

Just a big asterisk next 2004 in the record book.
