One interesting note on Charleston. They were better last year than this year, only losing 3 games in the regular season. One of those was to Hofstra, where Aaron Estrada went for 25 points on 5/9 from 3.
Aaron Estrada…”Mr. Charleston Chew’s ‘em up and spits them out”
Ok, that was bad, really bad - but I’ll take a repeat performance of that stat line from him on Friday. Roll Tide, Aaron, lead us on!

Portal is crazy. Arkansas state women have 7 players in it

Perimeter wing defense has been a weakness for Bama this season as they don't have a single true SF.
Derrion Reid, a freshman next season, should play SF in the future, but is currently an undersized PF.
Naas Cunningham is a SF, but he has a lot of ups and downs in scoring, so it seems unlikely that he will be able to contribute much from his freshman year.

Posted this in the recruiting thread, but since it's rather dead at the moment....
Watched his portal scouting video. Dude is a metric king. 80th percentile or higher for every scoring split they mentioned other than post-ups (57th) which we rarely will see. I think he'll probably be more of a 3 here if his defense is good enough on the perimeter. Hopefully the defensive side of things isn't a problem...

Top 5 players with the most average minutes played this season
6' 0" - 6' 2" - 6' 2" - 6' 5" - 6' 10"
last season
6' 0" - 6' 0" - 6' 7" - 6' 9" - 6' 11"
It is true that there is no rim protector this season, but
The biggest difference from last season is that there is no real SF this season.

I hope we leave the throwback uniforms at home. We haven’t played well in them recently.

Agree, at least if we're gonna do throwbacks anymore let's go with these:

I only recognize Horry, Sprewell, Wimp, Mike Davis and David Hobbs.
Have forgotten the rest.

He's a solid coach. I don't think he's as good at Acuff who was at UAH before him. Had success at Chattanooga. I think he got in tight with some folks in huntsville that limited the players he recruited. He had sons on the team, plus he had kids of other coaching buddies on his teams at UAH.

In addition to those, I also see Hollywood Robinson (31).
And I think 44 is Melvin Cheatum and 51 might be Cedric Moore.
What year is that pic, 1990-91?

We had 3 rim protectors on the floor (including our SF) at the same time during long stretches last year.

Brandon Miller
Alabama -> 6' 9"
NBA -> 6' 7"

Noah Clowney
Alabama -> 6' 10"
NBA -> 6' 9"
Maybe Stevenson is actually 6' 9" or 6' 10".
Other players are actually shorter as well.

I wonder if we've reached out to (C) Tarris Reed Jr. 6'10, 265 (Michigan). Good feet for a big man!
Saddi Washington should be available to bring on as a coach if Nate Oats decides to head that route.

Nate is definitely targeting length this offseason. Why doesn’t he do it every year? The years we have length we have been really fricking good. The Years we don’t have length…not very good defensively
