Children going to SEC school other than the one you graduated from…

Did you ever wear those colors, or rep that school in any way? Would it matter if they played a sport at that school?
I went to LSU for 8 years and graduated twice…thinking I’m never wearing another team’s colors, but is that irrational? I think not wearing LSU colors is enough.
Are there some SEC schools you’d cross the aisle for? Some you’d never?

I mean, if my kid played a sport for another SEC team, I would wear their gear to my kid's game, but just because my kid goes to that school? Hell no.

My daughter graduated from Georgia and I kind of pulled for them during those years but I never wore their colors or gear. Once she graduated I was done with that shite.

That’s the only reason I would wear other teams clothes. I’m not in that position but I’ve seen many families do it.

Yea, that’s tricky. If you were sitting in the parents section it would be kind of dick to wear ‘your’ colors…when you’re there simply supporting.

If your son was the starting QB at some other SEC school and you still refused to wear their colors, you either 1)don't actually have kids, 2) are lying, or 3)are the shittiest parent imaginable

I know someone who has two sons who play for 2 different SEC schools. He has gear for both schools and travels to as many of their games as he humanly can. I don’t know how he does it, but it’s impressive.

What if they were a recruit or a committed recruit? Wait until they actually suit up…seems like the right time.

I completed two graduate degrees at UT. I did my undergrad and frat days at UF.
My youngest son just finished his undergrad at UT.
My allegiance has shifted from 90/10 UF/UT to 51/49 UF/UT over the past 37 years. I've never cheered for UT over Florida but I've reached the point of indifference if the outcome of the game will enhance my son's life experience, such as an SEC championship, huge bowl game, NC, etc.

My wife went to UGA. She said she would never allow our daughter to go there.

I hated UF when y’all were kicking our arse all through the 90s…but I wouldn’t mind my son going to play there. He’s just short of an offer there now…so he needs to move on until it’s more than that.

My old man went to state and had two kids go to Bama. He has a long sleeved and short sleeve Alabama shirt for the off chance we all do a family trip to a game. He does not wear them outside of that situation. He has stated he’s given the university enough money to casually root for them as long as they aren’t playing state.

That’s an interesting take, why the hell not?
We’ve been on visits…seems nice enough.

If Archie wore Tennessee Orange for 4 years, I think you can suck it up buttercup.

What a weird thing to stress over
You aren't going to burst in flames or be banished from your town if you wear a shirt for another school.

1. You're a dad
2. Be a good dad
3. Don't be a shitty dad
4. Wear the fricking gear and support your kids.
5. If you misunderstand #4, revisit #1-3.

If mine went to Ole Miss I would disown them and cut them out of the will

I’ve already told my son he can go anywhere he wants but the only way I’m wearing other school’s colors is if he plays a sport there, and it’ll only be on game days.
