Now that the SEC Gods (Saban and Smart) have quit screwing around it looks like Bama vs UGA in the championship game. If Bama wins, could they be left out of the playoff? You could have undefeated champs from the PAC 12, Big 12, Big 10 and ACC.

Can’t see leaving out an undefeated champ from any of those leagues this season, but the chances of all four happening are very, very slim.

Yes of course. An undefeated Washington/Oregon, FSU, Oklahoma, and OSU/um Would make the playoffs a thousand times out of a thousand over bama or any other 1 loss sec champ.

Granted the odds of 4 undefeated P5 champs is extraordinarily low.

And President Potato could string together a coherent sentence.

Possible? Sure. Likely? Not really.

Zero chance. There's absolutely no way they'd leave a one loss Alabama out of the playoff, they've deservedly built up enough equity to get the benefit of the doubt and get in with one loss, even over an undefeated Pac 12 team.

Of course, they could. Say that UGA slips up against Ole Miss and takes a loss but wins the SECC.
FSU goes undefeated.
USC or Oregon goes undefeated.
One of Michigan/Ohio St/ Penn St goes undefeated.
Oklahoma goes undefeated.

In that scenario, a 1-loss SEC champ stays home from the playoffs.

Depends on the loss and how many undefeated teams are left

Like you said it would require the 4 other conferences to have undefeated conference champs.

Barring that, the 1-loss SEC champ would likely be the first team in with a single loss.

Alabamas resume would trump most all those teams if they win out. A win over an undefeated UGA would get them in.

If it's Georgia, yes. SOS is weak compared to other 1 loss SEC teams. Just the facts.

SEC has the most viewers and will have a few teams imo. End of the day it’s about money not the best records.
