Historically, yes.
Though always may not be our must beat every year and many times a meaningless game SEC title-wise. But yes, if we had one true rival it's OM.

Ole Miss has defeated LSU 4 times in the last 20 years.

It’s actually 5 times since 2008, but more importantly, 4 out of 6 at home since 2008 with only 2011 being an embarrassment. We never win in Baton Rouge, but not many teams do

Can't stand Ole Miss but they're not a rival of ours. If a rival is based on most hated status, LSU has the privilege of hating half the conference at different levels depending on a sliding scale of factors. You have to beat us every now and then. The more you do this, the more we hate you. So Alabama is at the top of our hatemometer for now. Followed by probably TAM. After that it's a cornucopia of hate. Hate for everybody. Rival for a day.

This is all true. In the 90’s and 2000’s it was Florida we hated the most. Teams seem to rotate in that spot. A&M could be next if they ever put a team together with Sabans retirement

We’ve played Ole Miss every year for forever. Lots of close games and big moments between the two. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be a rivalry.

This is pretty accurate, actually. We don’t have a true instate rival. Bama has Auburn. Ole Miss has MSU. UGA has Tech, sorta but certainly rivals with UF. UF and Tenn and FSU are rivals and so on and so forth. We’re kind if rivals with everybody we play. Hell, we sort of manufactured a rivalry with USC and we haven’t played them since the 1970s.

This. Acquiring Saban was just the pitch black icing on the evil cake.

My departed FIL hated Ole Piss with a passion, above and beyond any other team, so I say yes, Ole Piss is LSU's original rival.

The younger generation, and fans who didn’t go to the school may disagree, but Ole Miss is LSU’s biggest rival. It becomes more evident when Ole Miss contends, which is rare, and when we lose to them.

You clearly don’t have a clue about the LSU/ Ole Miss rivalry.
