The case seems to be that he had phone sex with a woman who was brought to the University to warn him and the team about the dangers of sexual assault and harrassment.

He should be fired for just being an absolute moron.

He should be fired for failing as a head coach.

Guy is coming out on top anyway. He's been stealing money since he became an HC, so he should just settle and ride off.

Tucker was giving her money and donated to her organization. Once Tucker cut off the speaking appearances (i.e., money) she went to MSU with this. It seems they had some sort of affair (a phone affair?) and once she saw he wasn't going to make sure she was getting paid she came with these allegations.

for me if my employer has contracted someone to be a SME on sexual harassment I am not going to proceed with anything other than a professional relationship with that person...call me a prude or whatever by I will be a prude with a $9.5 Million a year contract in place and not a stupid a-hole who jerked off on the phone and cost myself $9.5 million a year...

I think Tucker just broke the Guinness Worlds Record for world's most expensive phone sex call.

Something smells fishy about that whole thing

State regrets giving him this $90 million contract and is looking for a way out of it. Michigan State is using the same play book to fire him with cause like UT fired Pruitt. Burn down the house and start over. So far it has worked for UT, only time will tell about State.

When they are employed by the same entity as you and you’re married to someone else, yes.

They weren't employed by the same entity (as I understand, MSU just paid her for a couple of appearances) and he was supposedly estranged from his wife.

Real talk: She seems like a predator if his version of the facts (even outside of the phone sex encounter) are true. She asked for and received gifts, called him late at night, etc.

A couple questions:

- If this was sexual abuse, why didn’t she approach police and serve as a witness in the criminal case and file civil suit in state court? Why did she use the campus Title IX office?
- Why didn’t she immediately hang up the phone and inform university officials? What did she do and say before, during, and after this call
- why did she have 36 calls afterward? Was she in touch with the university and asked to continue these calls? If so, sounds like entrapment and a conspiracy to get them out of this massive contract.
- I think this thing will be a headache for MSU as he will fight it. It’s obviously immoral behavior and reflects poorly on the university, but when it’s limited to phone (non-physical) interaction and appeared consensual, how far does the definition stretch?
- If you’re a HC at a university, don’t engage in any behavior that can be perceived as immoral. It’s not worth it.

I'd think those facts alone would clear Tucker from the morality clause in his contract. IF her phone records indicate that she initiated contact with him outside of normal business hours, and if she received gifts from him then the relationship was consensual.

I don't care who you are. If you value your self worth, you should not engage in anything that you would be embarrassed if your mama (or wife) found out.

I bet he winds up getting his full payout.

Absolutely not. They have an option for cause if he does anything that brings shame on the program or university. He admitted to masturbating on the phone with a sexual assault advocate. He is married and it just doesn’t seem professional to hit on a women you brought in for sexually assault training for the team. His players probably just unlearned everything she said and now think their coach is a pimpster. He broke his agreement based on what is already known and not in question. Now this women is a prior sexual assault victim and an advocate. He is now accused of sexual harassment by her. After admitting to having phone sex with her. It is like saying you had consensual sex with someone accusing you of rape. The university has cause to fire him.

I don't see any Title IX jurisdiction here. Title IX deals with equal opportunity in education.

She isn't a student at MSU.

It's a personnel issue pertaining to his contract.

I’m not saying she didn’t set him up. I’m saying to try and get romantically involved with this woman, being in the position he is/was in, was stupid and he should have known better.

Because it’s easier to convict.
