Over/under is 53.5

I say lay the points and take the over.

I'd be surprised if a brand new Defense holds a team to just one touchdown.

Its UMASS. The worst team in college football. They averaged 12.5 points per game last year.

Interesting thing about taking the over this season. The rule has changed and the clock no longer stops on a first down until inside the last 2 minutes of the half. It will shave a few minutes off the game. Thus, hitting the over will be harder.

First game with new staff and a shite load of new players against a crap opponent...I'm thinking that we will play a lot of guys and end up not covering.

UMASS won't be ready for the heat/humidity of The Plains.

I’m always hesitant to bet week 0 or week 1. I’m eyeing Tulane -7 at home to USA though.

We'll cover just because we outmatch them at every single position. A harsin team would have covered this one as well.

Like half their roster is from the south… and they play in New Mexico next weekend… I think they’ll be fine. It gets hot in Massachusetts.

Also, 39.5 is a hell of a lot of points to cover. I wouldn’t bet that even if we had a 4th year head coach coming off a national championship. All it takes is the coach calling off the dogs up 35-0, which AU has done a lot in recent memory.

Of all the things that could have been done to compress the game time, this is like taking an interesting factor out of the game in order to squeeze in another annoying commercial.

harsin AU team opened 2022 against Mercer as 31-point favorites

final margin was 26

A humorous call back to win USC visited Auburn.

But yes, that does seem like a big # on week 1. New coach. New QB.

Freeze has been praising the running game all fall, the receivers just of late, and the QB definitely needs some work with them. I think we will see a lot of passing no matter how high the score is, just to get a good look at Thorne and give as many receivers as possible some looks.

I bet we are covering that before the 3rd quarter ends, thats my story and Im stickin to it

we make every opposing QB look like a Heisman contender. 40 point difference is a hell of a lot. I wouldn't touch this game with your weiner.

I don’t think we will cover. UMASS isn’t great, but looked decently organized last week. Meaning, they might be better than they were last season- especially at QB.

I’d take the under. AU doesn’t ever seem to cover these big spreads. I would not that changes with all the new staff and players.
