But it will be close.

In the West:

1. Bama (will beat LSU but may lose to Auburn)
2. LSU (will beat Auburn)
3. Auburn (will do better than expected)

A&M? looking at another 8 & 4 season but could go to 9-2 but will probably lose to UT and/or SC. At the very best, will lose to Bama and (LSU or someone else).

the rest won't matter.

Not going to say who wins in Atlanta.

I think we're close enough to where we can all give our prognostics.

How do you see the West going this season?

My top 6 ranking listed in no real order:

Arkansas
Ole Miss
Miss State
LSU
Alabama
Auburn
A&M

Odds say a team that starts with an A is a safe bet.

I personally think miss state wins the west going undefeated then going on to win the natty. After that arnett is praised as the lord and savior of God’s flat earth.

On paper it should come down to Bama or LSU. If the Petrino experiment works out at A&M they can make a run at it with the talent on their roster.

If we can beat them last year we should win by 10-14 this season. Our team is much better but I truly wish the Gumps the best of luck

I agree but I think A&M goes 11-1 if Jimbo actually lets Bobby take over the offense.

I was pro-LSU for the longest time, because they return all that talent and will have a stout OL. BUT...I'm telling ya, all of the 'Saban-is-on-his-way-out' talk is gonna be the difference. That has done nothing but serve as a truckload of bulletin board material for this team and this coaching staff. They are gonna rally around the old man like never before to prove this narrative is wrong.
So...they will mop the floor with the Donghorns, and proceed to run the table all the way to the SECCG...where we'll be waiting for them.

I expect the west to be a very contested race. LSU, Bama and A&M all have the talent across the board. I think aggie has a turn around season this year, but Jimbo and Petrino's unholy marriage starts to unravel next year.

I'm afraid of this as well. Auburn doesn't stay down very long and the media, even in Alabama, doesn't really say much about them so you never know what they have.

Bama may lose a game, but it won't be to Auburn this year

I am going with Bama, Brian Kelly seems to shite the bed when it matters. Even if they beat Bama again, they will lose somewhere else.

Case in point: Home game vs. UT last year

Bama will be fine if
Under 60 yds in penalties /game
Going +5 to 7 in takeaways for the year and not more than two turnovers in any single game

Starting in 03 LSU has beaten Bama at Bama and won the SEC every 4 years except for 2015.

2003
2007
2011
2019
2023?

If Defense wins championships, this is my top list.
1. A&M - They have crazy talent from the 2022 recruiting class and now have big time depth to compete.
2. Bama - Well....its Bama
3. LSU - Oline have a full season under their belt. The offense and defense will be good. But do they have the depth A&M and Bama have?
4. Arkansas
5. Ole Miss
6. Auburn
7. Miss State

So with only 11 games played, you’re thinking the Aggies will forfeit one? Certainly possible. Who do you think they will refuse to play??
