They suck because they represent everything that is wrong with higher education. Elitist, leftist, racist.

Frickpants, had FSU joined the SEC in 92, Carolina would not have got the invite to the SEC. FSU will emerge from this all and still be a better football program than the Cocks!

It’s not Sankey’s fault the pac 12 doesn’t care about sports the same way the sec does.

Look at those schools and tell me which leagues are most competitive and committed to sports.

If Sankey doesn’t get OU and UTX then they are both in the B10 right now as the first moves, followed by USC, UCLA.

I think it’s more like a last nail in the coffin situation. Ultimately this has just as much/way more to do with television market wars and conference wars over valuable/perceived-to-be valuable and mobile programs.

I'm pretty sure he has stated TX and OU reached out to him as the preferred of SEC. If he didn't take them they were going BIG
That's certainly what OU and Texas wanted the SEC to think would happen, but, frankly, it's not likely that they could have made the jump at that time. The only reason Texas was able to go to the SEC was that ESPN was willing to let them out of the LHN contract to go from a league where they only had part of the TV package to one where ESPN had 100% of the TV package. There's no way that ESPN would have played ball if Texas was trying to go to the Big Ten, where ESPN has none of the TV rights. Texas would have been stuck in the Big XII until the expiration of the LHN contract in 2031 if they hadn't been making a move toward an ESPN league.

Besides that, there's no guarantee that the Big Ten even contemplates a move if the SEC had simply said, "Thanks for your interest, but we are not looking to expand at the moment. Check back later."

So, if Sankey doesn't piss his pants in fear that OU and Texas would go elsewhere, we probably could have preserved the Power 5 lineup through the end of the decade, which I think would have been a good thing.

But the fact that the Pac-12 is getting screwed is a deserved bit of karma. Stanford and Berkeley have looked down their noses at so many other schools when it comes to expansion. They could have had Texas and Colorado in the early 90s (A&M would have gone with Arkansas to the SEC), but Texas wasn't good enough for them (even though they are in a league with Arizona State, go figure). They've also been terrible bigots when it comes to religiously affiliated schools. So, frick them, they deserve it.

If you hadn't seen your mother gobble so much strange peen growing up, you would be so obsessed with the Cocks.

Is it "still be" a better football program, or "still have" a better football program?

Gotta love it, now that FSU is grasping at straws to gtfo of the A She She, FSU fans and their hangers-on keep reminiscing of what might have been thirty years ago had Bobby Bowden and the FSU BoTs not been such raging gushy pussies. FSU will always wonder what might have been.

FSU fans and their clingers ... I bet y'all contact your old girlfriends via Facebook and weird shite like that, do you not? Always grasping at the past, what might have been IF ONLY yada yada yada.

Lulz, y'all are so pathetic. 30 fricking years and look at y'all now as a fanbase. Well, y'all never were much of a fanbase but sheeesh ... y'all are a sad sad bunch these days.

I almost feel sorry for y'all.

Yeah, look at us now. Poised and ready for another run. 16-3. Does that ring a bell? Even having Spurrier and the SEC could not get you a victory over the Noles! Bless your heart!

Plus, the Pac 12 has the late prime time slot and that is what killed it. That late time zone isn't good for the rest of the country.

Their obsession with the Directors Cup also. Sucking money off the football programs to womenzzz sports has had a negative impact also.

This move is huge for those 2 schools. They were getting to the point where being the big fish in a small pond wasn’t working anymore. Moving now was urgent before they became irrelevant and unattractive to any other conference regardless of their ancient history.

At least when they lose in this conference it won’t be ridiculed as bad as losing where they came from.

Self preservation is where it’s at.

Much like the Courtesy Stop mentioned in a thread on the board a few days ago, a Handshake Alliance isn't really a real thing.
