Apparently a favorite of a lot of the players too. What happened?

This one will really hurt if true.
He did a great job at Ole Miss and Auburn and was such a steady, fun, positive presence on the A&M coaching staff for the last ten years.
His players seemed to love the guy, and I think that is what made his such an excellent recruiter. His BBQ was legit as well.
Crazy to think of all the NFL talent he coached through the years.
RIP.

Was a current assistant? That’s sad

There have been some references from people who cover our program this afternoon that he's been sick and battling something privately. Was beloved by players and has stuck around since we moved to the SEC. Former All SWC DL at A&M as well.

it's not a rumor. He's apparently been sick (kidneys) for a pretty long while and has been battling. Supposedly they took him off life support today.
He was a great Aggie player and coach. Guy appeared to be just a very nice person - all his players seemed to love him.
Prayers for his family as well as all those who had the privilege to know him

TP was beloved in Aggieland. His D-Line cookouts were legendary. Great coach. Great recruiter. Great man.

Horrible news if true. Met him one time and really enjoyed talking with him. As down to earth and relatable as they come.
