that quote is tacky, as if he has an axe to grind.

Several of his quotes since we beat Kansas have reflected poorly on him in my opinion. The whole rant about we need to talk about how good they are and they're sick of hearing about the championship team.....

I wish him the best.

I wonder if this unhappiness is what helped push Holland over to the G League

Extremely doubtful

Holland did whats best for Holland. These guys don't compare notes as much as you'd think. Its a business decision at this point.

At times it was hard to tell if Walsh had a short leash or he was just in foul trouble, or both.

Devo/Council could go 0-8 and stay in, but walsh would get a bad foul or miss a 3 and get yanked.

When I first read that quote I had the same reaction as everyone else. But it also felt off or forced. Is it a possibility his group/agent has put this out there to try and convince teams that what they saw last year is just the tip of the iceberg and not a finished product? If he had came out and said “This past season was the best version of me you will see” it may give some teams pause on his potential.

Again, it’s a bad look. But maybe it was a bad choice of words for the right reasons. At least I hope so. I would assume most NBA organizations talk to their college coaches when evaluating a prospect. So it just seems like you wouldn’t intentionally make a comment like that.

Per the rivals guys, G League came in with a ridiculous offer at the last minute. Mind boggling type of number.

Is what it is.

And ya'll need to relax on Walsh's quote. The dude is like 19 and has zero PR experience. Likely just came out wrong or he was referring to the fact the combine gives him a ball and is like “do your thing” where here, he had a role, and a system.

The dude literally said "Arkansas is home" at the beginning of the quote.

He’s clearly marketing himself and that’s fine. People are being way too sensitive about that comment

Everything about his movement post season ending has been drawn up by a marketing person or team of some sort.

Someone please fill me in. Why wouldn't the G league save the money and let him go develop in college for a year?

It’s a for profit league. Better players means more exposure, sponsorship etc.

Not an expert by any means but that’s what I gather.

I don't think what Walsh said is anything unusual. They all have a role and sometimes that role is constrictive. If you watched Walsh in high school, he was all over the floor and he also fouled out a lot. That wasn't going to work in college, so I'm sure Muss did constrict him some. It probably hurt his scoring average, but allowed him to remain on the floor as a defensive asset. The NBA may be more suited for his game, but idk.

Umm our basketball team is given tons of coaching on how to speak to the media.....it's a whole part of who muss is and why they all give the same notes he does....

So he's going to be Barack Obama after 8 months in our program?

Think about the other interviews and interviewees that have come from muss's program. Walsh is probably the weakest media communicator I've heard yet.

I'm curious to see if Muss tweets at Jordan as often as the other guys. That quote will hurt us in recruiting.

I think the context of him praising us just makes it stand out in a weird way. Honestly, I think Jordan was trying to market himself and was maybe not reflective on how his statements could imply something bad about the basketball program. It feels like a standard mistake for a teenager to make.

For the record it's not a big deal one way or another. The real question is nick smiths draft stock and if that plays out negatively for us in the future

This is how I read it. I don’t believe he was being critical. I think he was just trying to state how much more he was capable of, but said it awkwardly.
