Just went back and looked at Holloway's 247 scouting report. The first couple of sentences of it are just laughable:
quote:

Holloway is one of the best shooters in the class. He has a ton of gravity as a spot-up shooter, has deep range without altering his mechanics, can come off screens, and has a compact release.

Dude has to be one of the most overrated top 20 prospects (he was a top 3 Guard lol) I have personally seen ever.

We definitely cost ourselves the game, but that Greek dude just going off is partly responsible too. If we hold him to just double his season average, we win.

We didnt get the breaks but in the end, we lost the game. We were our own enemy. Refs didnt help but Auburn still should have won the game. Got played by a smarter team with a better game plan and executed

That game was all on the players not executing. Auburn won’t do anything in the tournament until they get better guards.

Yep… our best ranked team offense & defense in the NET and can’t even get out of the first round.

I’m speechless. Auburn being Auburn!

WDE sadly

That and just circus fade aways. When he hit that shot on the baseline over Cardwell, I had a feeling it was over.

Surprisingly we shot better than them from the FT line, but like you said, they hit more and hit the ones that mattered most. Biggest concern with this team (for me at least) was the lack of adversity they faced. Our guys crumbled in crunch time.

CBM not playing was the difference in the ball game. He was our go to guy for clutch shots. He really cost his team with that elbow

I think equally significant was that he wasn't on the sidelines either. He has been the guy to pull everyone together and get their minds right.

I honestly dont understand why he thought he would get away with it. It was very visible. Dude just DGAF

He wont change. Most people with that mentality dont. No need to go any further with him.

My one critique of Bruce this season was him not reigning that kind of stuff in more early on. I know part of that edge is what makes him who he is but at some point you can't do stuff like that. Just unbelievable for that to happen 3 min. into a game.

So what tell him to go looking elsewhere? Yeah, he screwed up one game but we were penalized for being the more athletic team and that’s a fact. It is what it is. Probably the most talented team Bruce has had and we and the refs fricked it away.

I agree.

I guarantee they intentionally baited CBM into that. The Yale player gave him a shove running down the possession before but it wasn’t a full on elbow. Then once he got elbowed he knew exactly where the ref was and told him he got elbowed. The ref actually didn’t see it when it happened.

Season is over. Bruce can focus on the geopolitical stuff going on in the Middle East full time now.
