Both Wade and Beard seemed destined for coaching rehab at a mid-major before getting a job at a program in a major conference. Wade you would think is untouchable until we know what his "sentence" is, and Beard, while he had his charges dropped, would be a PR nightmare for most schools with his issues being so fresh.

Sounds like if both can agree to contract value then they don't need to have a mid major stop.

A lot of mid-majors have better basketball programs than we do.

That may be true, but not many mid-majors have the exposure that SEC programs do. Not to mention, Sankey has black-balled coaching pariahs for less than what Wade is looking at

I would applaud Ole Miss for trying to win if they get Beard

I would applaud them just because it will rankle the 'me too' folks.

Legal charges were dropped, but, Texas or Texas Tech didn't want him back. Why?
Sankey would know the answer to that if an SEC team whats to immediately hire him. Longshot.

We are elite at baseball. Soon to be pretty good at football - never thought I’d see the day a coach pick us over Auburn. And soon to be back in the mix for a tourney appearance 1 out of every 4 years. Looking good!

My jimmies will be extremely rustled in a couple years if Beard at Ole Miss is beating Texas.

No offense to ole miss, but I assumed Chris beard would hold out for a better rebound job.
I love Pear, but Chris beard is twice the coach he is
would be the best hire on paper ole miss has made since what, some football coach in the 60s? Can’t think of a bigger steal than ole miss snagging beard over dropped charges

Probably because the only reason charges didn't stand was because the fiance dropped them. That's pretty common with domestic violence victims and almost certainly guarantees there will be a DV situation in the future if she stays with him.
I'm assuming Texas doesn't have a DV law where a victim can't just drop that charge.
ETA: Long story short this is really high risk for Ole Miss. They'd be better off looking for an up and comer that might get hot.

If we actually hire him, I will cum buckets. It will be the best coach we’ve ever had by a long shot
We are the worst basketball program historically in the SEC. So we can afford to take a risk like this

We have mid majors not even showing interest in out job. This might be the only chance for ole miss to elevate their program to worst in the P6

It's not hard to believe there were pictures and police reports that wouldn't go away as quickly as the victim's decision to drop it.
