It's obvious that ABC/ESPN is pushing the SEC for Alabama-LSU but that so-called "rivalry"

The series that produces the most NFL draft picks, national titles and tv ratings? Also the one that LSU has won two out of the last four meetings?

I don’t know why moron Bama fans try to downplay the LSU game like it’s not a big deal. It’s fricking huge. Quit lying to yourselves. If it wasn’t a good game why would the President attend?

What narrative? He’s quoted as saying he doesn’t like it.

He’s also quoted as saying he wants 9 conference games. A better way to have a balanced schedule in a 16 team league.

More than half of the teams in this 16 team league are pretenders. The most legit teams you’d have on a 9 conference game schedule would be like 3 or 4 at best.

For example, on a good year Bama would have to play LSU Georgia Oklahoma and maybe Tennessee. The rest of the games would be relatively easy.

Saban didn't go to an opposing non-conference stadium for 11 years. He always made sure he had seven home games, 3 easy wins, and one neutral game at a stadium he knew would be at least 50% bama fans. He has always talked about tougher schedules but his actions were always the opposite.
A UGA fan has the nerve to discuss easy scheduling?

Oh yes. We want to run from a long time rival.

Did you read his quotes?

Have you? He’s been on record for years about wanting 9 conference games. A way better format to have a balanced schedule in a 16 team league.

How the hell does he know who they've given us? Have they released anything concrete yet?

They probably told him what they were leaning for Bama.

I'm excited if true, I was bummed at the possibility of losing Bama yearly.

Like someone earlier said this is all for money.

Oklahoma didn't win half of their games last season. And the vols were wandering in the wilderness for a decade and a half. That's why 2 permanent opponents are plenty. Teams are always up and down.

How do you explain this as anything other than Saban complaining the proposed Bama opponents are too good?

Why not swap The Tide for Vandy?

I believe Auburn's will be Bama, UGA (2 from the top) and Ole Miss (1 from the bottom)

Saban has pushed for 9 conference games. Now we're on the verge of it with the expansion and for whatever reason Nick Saban is the only SEC HC that's made comments on it.

Why him, why not Fisher, Kelly, Freeze, Kiffin, Heupel? Where's their commentary on their 3 permanents?

Georgia usually has a pretty good non-conference schedule. This year's is weak because of the Oklahoma situation, which has been explained 9000 times already this offseason, but people like to pretend that's Georgia's fault for some reason.

Alabama usually schedules a pretty good non-conference game every year too.

Auburn, Vols and State should be no-brainers!

I just assumed that with bama having AU and UT as stone cold locks, that MSU would be the no brainer 3rd choice. But with the people in charge these days who knows.

Guarantee ESPN behind the scenes is demanding Bama-LSU for TV revenue reasons.

No one (ESPN, conference or schools) wants the Iron Bowl to go away and Bama-UT is another sacred cow game that is off limits so Bama is going to get LSU forced on them as a third game because it makes everyone else too much money even if it means a completely imbalanced schedule compared to other schools.

Bama would be locked into playing the #2 (UT), #5 (LSU) and #6 (AU) teams in terms of historic conference winning % (avg 4.3).

UGA would be looking at #4 (UF), #6 (AU) and #10 (SC) (avg 6.7)

Some teams like Ole Miss would probably be looking at #5 (LSU), #10 (MSU), #11 (ark) (avg 8.7).

Not taking shots at anyone but if you are maximizing tv revenue you are going to force as many blue blood matchups as humanly possible which indirectly leads to lots of bottom tier school Jefferson pilot matchups (Texas and Oklahoma fans can go look that up) as a result.

This game held equitable SEC scheduling hostage for over 30 years. Nothing is off limits.

Saban wanted a 9 game conference schedule, but he can’t pick and choose which bottom feeders he gets to play, so now he’s whining about it.

Sounds like LSU fans approve of these three and going forward will never complain about Alabama’s “weak” schedule.
